Know your role, know your place. Absolutely brutal timing and delivery with that question. Maybe and that's a really big maybe, if it is a well established and respected reporter would that question even come close to respectability in that scenario. It just reeks of desperation and trying to "make a name" for yourself. And any journalist worth their salt knows 100% no coach is answering that question in that setting. This isn't 60 minutes and you ain't Barbra Walters.

If that happened, this town would be insane if that unfinished business finally becomes totally finished!

Someone else would've asked. Don't kid yourself.

IDK, the journalists role isn't to play promoter to the Flames organization.

The issue was out there (esp given previous coaches) and rumours were already circling. He could have asked it more tactfully to be sure, but in some ways it's good that he asked because Darryl was able to address it head on and put it to bed.

Plus I don't think anyone is going to lose points with Darryl for asking a hard question directly, he's not really one to beat around the bush.

If anyone can come back at 43 and still contribute, it's gotta be Iginla.
The man looks like he can still bring it.
This would be an epic story if Iggy comes out of retirement.
It's highly unlikely but let's all collectively manifest this into reality.
You can't tell me he doesn't bring more than a Rinaldo or a Simon.

GIMME!!!!

It's a fair question in this day and age, especially with the Peters thing affecting the team the way it did.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Bring Iggy back into the fold... even if only to provide advice on snow tires.

Did he say this?

I missed the first part of the conference..

As much as it doesn’t make sense in some ways, I thought I heard it was Edmonton because he didn’t want to leave Alberta again..

Very happy to hear Darryl's view of the team. He knows what to do and will do it. The players have to join in or be gone. Welcome back! I can't wait to see where this leads to.

Nah he said it was Chicago because he grew up in that organization. Feels like he owes them a cup too.

Kinda reminded me of when Peters first joined and everybody was surprised at how well he knew the group and was clear on what they needed.

Obviously that didn't turn out so well in the end, but the results were there initially.

Yeah, Brad didn’t want this. Hangs it on the players and laments how you can’t trade the whole team

Said some right things about Darryl, but it was his last move, and my gut tells me he was ‘encouraged’ to make it

Guys better work hard.

There's players who ended up on IR solely because Darryl gave 'em the Stink Eye.

That’s great to hear. I think Loubardious said Sutter would only come back to coach one of the Alberta teams cause he wanted to stay close to home.

It pissed me off when I heard it cause he would then be a traitor.
