Adjusted? He just threw out a new random guy with Backlunds line and maintained rolling 4 lines the ENTIRE night. So you’re right he only adjust because he was forced to, and yet still managed to f__k it up.
So technically Backlund adjusted, by removing himself from the game.

Apparently true.
I never got one of those...they would be fun!

This team has major problems.
Bennett wants a trade, gets healthy scratched, then top line minutes?
Already a players only meeting has happened.
Can’t play a full 60 minutes.
Ward has no control over this team. This core, at most, deserves one more chance to prove themselves and that can only happen with an established NHL coach. If Tre / the owners don’t make that move, this season is over and this core will never win anything meaningful.

So when the opposition very clearly has the breakout strategy scouted and is absolutely crushing you for two straight games, it’s on the players to collective redraw the X’s and O’s on the fly and make the adjustment? Same story against Dallas in the playoffs.
Ward should not have been hired. Neither should have Peters, nor Gulutzan.
Treliving is complete garbage at hiring coaches.

PGTs after losses are perhaps the most powerful examples of confirmation bias there is.
You can predict the following:
- Johnny Makarov will blame Gio, in a downright personal way too
- Kennan87 and Bubbsy will blame Tree
- Lanny will blame Sam
- A whole bunch of people will blame the coach
- Jiri (and maybe Timbit) will blame Johnny (except Jiri didn't watch much tonight so he can't)
- That-guy-who-hates-Sean-Monahan-but-I-can't-recall-the-name-of will blame Sean Monahan
None of us are immune to it, but when you look at PGTs through that lens, they are kinda funny. Just everyone saying the same things they always say.

I don't wanna be too hard on Ward, I think he's a solid x's and o's coach which makes for a terrific assistant.
but that can't be all you bring to the head job

I don’t agree with his take on Sam, generally.
He is 100 % correct on Sam’s responsibility in allowing the GWG.

Well he certainly wouldn't want to try something different. Hmmm Johnny's having trouble tonight and he certainly doesn't have support lets just throw him out again it'll work this time. Nah coaches can't make those decisions that's crazy talk.

Oh please. Were you watching those PPs? The ones where the Flames patiently sat back, graciously allowed the Canucks penalty killers all the time they needed to get set up into their trap formation, then tried to slowly carry the puck into the zone, only to turn the puck over again and again?
Yup, just keep doing that over and over. Don't bother with tactical adjustments. Don't bother with speed, don't bother with fast breakouts, don't bother trying to dump and chase. Rinse and repeat the same failed strategy over and over. You'll break through one of these times!

A pattern is a pattern. We can all pretend this is anything above an average team, or that the franchise is trending upwards.
Otherwise, what's wrong with calling a spade a spade.

In fact the worst thing he did was split up Bennett Johnny mony... the only line that was doing anything. Which was stupid

Flames players on the ice when the empty-net goal was scored:
- Byron Froese
- Josh Leivo
- Matthew Tkachuk
- Sean Monahan
- Mark Giordano
- Rasmus Andersson
That's the best set-up for getting the tying goal?

I thought your response to DM was over the top. He didn't say they played good or deserved to win. Just a reaction to those blaming the coach.
Btw where can I buy my pom poms? They don't seem to be wrking my friend
