Not sure what he did, but it appears he sorted out some between the ears stuff in the offseason.
He's started off on a completely different note and hasn't looked back.

Honestly, the Flames were good 5 on 5 in the first. PK just let them down. Pretty good effort overall from start to finish.

I noticed they played together for a shift in the third and they immediately had chemistry. Its time to put them together for a game to see what happens.

I think the save on Lindholm cancels out the goal from their own blue line

Fair enough but put the puck on the net. He isnt sniper enough to pick the corner like he seems to be trying on 100% of his shots. And not hitting a one.

SNET has a ####ing vendetta against the Flames. You'd think the French feed would be pro-Habs but they're very fair, and very good. I watched that entire game on Saturday in french.

I don’t think Johnny’s shootout record is very good. He has a few variations of the same 5 hole move and goalies have kind of figured it out.
Except for helly who is looking for his ####ing jock still wow

It was a battle of two top 5 goalies in the league tonight. Wonder if we see both the backups tomorrow. I'd give a huge edge to Flames in goaltending if we do.
Rittich has only played 1 game so far though, and I won't blame that loss on him. He probably sees more starts over the next couple of weeks.

Yeah the French feed is excellent. It's amazing how much they know their stuff.
And as someone who hates the Habs, it's surprisingly tolerable.

I don’t really get the complaints about reffing- I mean- I totally get the complaints- but it’s not different from any other year for almost as long as I can remember. NHL officiating has always been F- inconsistent, illogical game management garbage bs. Like these guys aren’t paid enough and they’re off making Bodog bets on outcomes on the side kinda bad. It’s been like this for years, not sure it’ll ever get fixed but I sure wouldn’t expect it anytime soon. Don’t people get like fined for speaking out about it anytime they do? The league and its officiating is so broken. Just is what it is.

Johnny was great. Like old Johnny.
Monahan was really good too, quite noticeable.
Marky is underpaid. So solid.
Many others had good games, Bennett, Mangi, Valimaki etc. but I have to give a shut out to Tanev. Dude is a rock. When he makes a bad play he fights back and corrects it like no-one I have seen before. This guy is all heart. Best D the Flames have, not even close really.
For the negative? Ward. Why have Ras and Chucky start OT? Poor skates should not be in OT, never mind together.
Why start Johnny and Monahan in the D zone in OT? They lost the face-off and chased until getting off for a change. Such a waste, such a brain cramp by Ward.
