Those extra punches by Eat Bread that earned him the penalty were unnecessary.

Nah, the term on Tanev's contract is still killer. There's a pretty good chance that age-based regression gets him by years three and four, if not sooner.

He looks completely done. When Andy was in the box for the PP, Gio looked as slow as I have ever seen him.

Mangiapane going for the puck under Allen's glove and not expecting anything to happen to him? A nice little hissy fit on top and gets a penalty.
Mang has been way under par this year so far. Needs to find a way to hit his playoff stride again.

Good period until the last few minutes. Bad penalty by Mangiapane. Hopefully they can kill this one off as it's one of those nights where a lot of Flames shooters are either hitting the skates of opponents or the goaldender right in the breadbasket.

Eat bread got pushed...retaliated with a hard right to the jaw.
That’s a good call and poor penalty by Eat bread.

Yeah, the first punch was probably justified but after he didn’t punch back there was no need to punch a second time.
Undisciplined penalty there but I love the fire.

And during the PP, Gio was very obviously going for the bump-back to Johnny such that MTL sent a second penalty-killer to attack Johnny as soon he received the puck.
What I like about Ras is that if he doesn't like the look of the bump-back, he'll drive the puck into the offensive zone himself.

Doesn’t matter in 3-4 years as the current window is shut by then. Johnny and mony will be gone and it will be a rebuild by then.
And if you don’t think gio has already fallen off a cliff wait until next September...

Why do we fight like mad to get the puck out of our end. Finally get the puck and instead of chip it out we pass it backwards. Then start the whole fight of trying to get the puck out again. Seriously!
