I think the Jays will pull the trigger with Texas seems to be the best fit. I believe O-Dog, Baptista and Rios will probably go.

I wouldn't trade with Texas unless they took Miguel Batista off the Jays hands!! This Baptista is something else!

That would explain why he's actually a good player!!!

Actually Batista would be alright, but he's not a top level closer that could get a team to the playoffs. At his salary unless he can play as a closer, or a starter, he's not much use, unless you're the Yankees and can afford to pay a middle reliever 5 million a year.

Just waiting to turn on the Tv or go to tsn.ca and seeing a Jays trade. Very exciting offseason so far thats for sure!! I think JP's facing numerous offers/intrest in Batista, I think within the next 24 hours we will a move. The Bradley for Batista trade is one I sure like, attitude problems yes, but the potential is there for him to be a 100 plus rbi guy.

Well now that Bush is gone, looks like a starting 5 of Hallady, Burnett, Chacin, Lilly and Towers, depending on what other moves are made, and what they do with Batista.

Not too shabby.

Rumors currently persisting:

Milton Bradley to the Jays for Batista (Apparently the Dodgers have tabled this offer to the Jays)

Wilkerson to the Jays: Unsure of any specifics right now.

Hinske to O's: Toronto possibly eating a little bit of Salary, maybe none at all.

I'd be really happy with Milton Bradley, although his behavior is documented, he emerged as a leader with the LA Dodgers 2 seasons ago, after the trade from Cleveland. However, he didn't get along very well with Jeff Kent last season, and their troubles were pretty well documented.

Kent himself has a reputation for being a cancer, and obviously those two did not see eye to eye.

It is it risk if the Jays do this? Yep. But it could pay off big time, I think Bradley wants a fresh start, and the Jays have a pretty good clubhouse with no real asses.

Ya I agree with you on Bradley, a bit of a clubhouse risk but I think his upside is to be an all-star. Hopefully that Hinske trade mentioned takes place, whether his fault or not about the contract you never like seeing a guy get booed, hopefully he has a chance to start again and the jays fans can then rally behind all the players on the roster instead of having a goat for their failures.

Wow now Tejada demands a trade. Much better bat than anything they've been talking about at 4.5 mil next year though Baltimore would be crazy to trade him in the AL east and wouldn't want Hudson with their 2B looking amazing last year.

A bit of a clubhouse risk??? Since becoming a Dodger (after the Indians couldn't control him) he has been arrested for interfering in a traffic stop, accused teammates of being racist, police were at his house 3 times on domestic disturbance calls, and thrown a bottle at a Dodger fan. Good Luck - he'll probably change

^^^Yeah Tejada is one of my favourite players but there's no way that he stays in the East - in fact he could be heading to the NL

Sounds like the Jays are still going hard after Wilkerson and right now he's #1 on there list. However the Rangers new rookie GM seems to be a handful and quite hard to deal with, setting up meetings, communicating exc. I don't think JP will do anything until he finds out if he's gonna get Wilkerson or not.

MLB.com radio is saying that right now the Jays are the front runners for Nomar. 2 years 12 million filled with incentives. I'd love to see Nomar in a Jays uniform, he can play anywhere on the field and could be an all star if he stays healthy. Not to mention, nothing like hearing the name Nomar on a nightly basis

ESPN's Jayson Stark rates the Jays as the #1 winner coming out of the winter meetings. Says some nice things about JP.

With the whole racism issue, it would be interesting to see how Bradley fares in the "White Jays" clubhouse.

Nomar? I don't know...Where does that leave the Jays with Adams and Hill? I'll go on record saying I think Hill is gonna be a superstar. To let him go right now could be a BIG mistake. Adams, I'm not so sure, even though he was basically solid last year. Not that I'm against acquiring Nomar, but...

I think Wilkerson is the best option at this point for a bit of punch at the plate.

I'm not sold on this Overbay thing...how is he a real upgrade on Hillenbrand? We'll see, I guess...

Blalock would look incredible in a Jays uni...switch hitter with power...probably not gonna get him though.

Not fond of Bradley, no need of a potential distraction when the team needs to make some noise in the East.

Tejada would be spectacular...again, not gonna happen.

Should have a solid rotation this year...how long has it been since we've been able to say that? And a closer that can actually close without giving me a coronary...nice.

I have to say, I'm impressed with what the Jays are doing, it's nice to be excited about the upcoming baseball season.

Overbay's OBP percenatge is way better then Hillenabrands his defensive is miles ahead of shea and not to mention he doesen't even make half a million bucks.

Nomar can play anywhere, Hill and Adams will not lose out on playing time because of him.

Hmmm...Let's say the Jays acquire Nomar...

Koskie 3B
Garciaparra SS
Hudson 2B
Overbay 1B

Hillenbrand DH

Where's Hill and Adams?

Even if we trade O dog, and you put Hill/Adams in there at second...where's the other one?

Are you gonna put Nomar in the outfield?! Lunacy! Not to mention, who's he replacing?

Nomar would play OF. Not SS.

Because of his wonky groin.

I agree, Nomar would be the LF / DH if this happens its a really intersting pick-up for sure.
