Once again, Kassian makes his life worse by talking to the media after his stupid actions. Oilers don’t learn lessons, Oilers are no good.
Actually, amusing, as it seems as if from the text released and then the audio behind it, that Kassian just talked to Spector, and no one else, specifically for these comments.
The Oilers org spin machine in full flight here...having Kasssian talk, and only talk,to the biggest media schill, handpicked by the Oilers to control the message and the interview so as not to get Kasssian to say something silly like he did with the Tkachuk thing....and Kassian still sticks his skate in his mouth. But, Spector was chosen to marginalize it, so it's the "well he barely touched him" defense so that Spector stays in the good books and carries the water for the Oilers in order to hopefully avoid bad incoming press.
I HATE players - even if they play for the Flames - with a long history of deliberately trying to injure players, or who are overly reactionary/reckless and try to injure players.
This is coming from a guy who thought McSorely's banishment was an overreaction as I didn't think it was in any way deliberate or reactionary in trying to hurt Brashear - and I grew up irrationally hating McSorely.
Kassian doesn't have a place in hockey. All he is going to do is really hurt someone out there. He talks about the code, but when is the last time you see him let-up in a fight that he is winning? When is the last time you see him stop hitting when the guy is down, never mind catching a guy that has fallen? We all have just seen Lucic play a really physical set of games, including a few fights, and he was nowhere close to crossing any lines or making anyone point at his actions and say that the NHL absolutely has to get fighting out of the game. That's 'the code' to me.
Kassian spouts off about this code, and he proceeds to horsecollar a smaller and defenceless player, delivering heavy blows to the back of the head when the player is on the ice and defenceless, and he is proclaimed as some type of hero, and Tkachuk still had to 'answer the bell'? Blew my mind. Take a look at a montage of Kassian's hits - so many are blindside, directly to the head, and even some having him leave his feet before contact is made. So damn dangerous...
Now he tries to kick someone with his skate...
I applaud the NHL when players who go around living outside the 'code' are no longer part of the NHL - including former Flames like Marchment (it was a disgrace that Darryl every brought that SOB onto the team) or even Gauthier (who I really loved at first, until he suddenly decided to target knees a bit too often and rather deliberately). I hated the goons back in the 80's and 90's who would sucker punch (and let's get this straight - a sucker punch is a punch to someone not expecting to get hit at all, sometimes when that opponent isn't even facing the aggressor). I think fighting and the physicality of hockey brings a tonne of emotion into the game, and I don't want to see it go away.
It is players like Kassian that will force the NHL's hand and eliminate fighting rather quickly as you just know he is going to really hurt someone.
I just can't believe those monkeys with twitter and columns (I can't call them sports journalists - they are fricken dumb monkeys up there) call him (and Nurse when he jumped Pollak) as some type of hero.
Kassian is a disgusting excuse for a human being. Off ice 'issues', on ice issues.. he is the type of player that is really a blight on hockey. McGrattan would make sure guys don't get more injured by letting up and even trying to stop guys from smashing their heads into the ice. Kassian doesn't let up at all, even when the refs are grabbing him, and now he is trying to kick opponents?
McSorely got a raw deal. Kassian should get a fair deal. That kind of irresponsible meathead doesn't belong in the game of hockey. Sooner or later, he is really going to hurt someone really bad and in a really disgusting fashion at that.
Banish him, and banish those damn monkeys with typewriters with their trash writing and spins. That's not journalism. That's just a further continual embarrassment to the game.
I bet the NHL gives him 10 games or less... and sooner rather than later the NHL will deeply regret it.

I normally don't like to wish harm to anyone or wishing players sustaining career ending injury. But him, I wish someone would do just that before he end someone's career or seriously injuring someone.
"The refs didn't call a penalty" didn't seem to stop Oilers imbeciles from presuming that Tkachuk was the second coming of the anti-Christ himself after he made a clean check.

The stupid part is the guy wasn't even on him, Kassian actual reaches out to him before the kick. I said 10 games when I saw it in the bar tonight but my oiler fan buddy said 20.
I may have told this story before but when I worked for the canucks I was in the elevator one day when Kassian got on. Now I'm old and not in the greatest of shape, this was years ago so probably 240ish (around 6'2") and generally not what you would expect an elite athlete to look. So Kassian gets on the elevator and looks me up and down and then asks if I'm a new acquisition to the team. Now, besides the fact I look nothing like an NHL hockey player I also happened to be holding a camera (big ass video camera for game coverage) and wearing a jacket with the words Vancouver Canucks Broadcasting written all over it. This is the intelligence of Kassian.

So Kassian hugs him, drags him down, and a half a second before the kick was actually holding Cernaks arm so he couldn't get up. So any narrative that Cernak was holding him down is complete BS. There better be an in person hearing announced tomorrow for this loser

And some of you don't want to face these rubes in the post season.
Even with all the garbage we've had to put up with this year, there's no doubt in my mind this group beats the Oilers in a 7-game series.
I'd much rather have the Oilers miss the playoffs every season for the rest of eternity. That garbage dumpster fire of a franchise doesn't deserve the post season. F*** that team forever.
That being said, I agree, the Flames would probably win that series in 6 games or less.

I really like Canada as a country.
If I compare Canada and The Netherlands there are many similarities at both social and economic level.
We generally take good care of our people.
We help each other and most people have had a (good) education.
And if you have had a little upbringing (not sure if that's proper English) from your parents you know what is normal and abnormal in life.
When a journalist from a large, respected ("respected"), Dutch media company spreads these types of 'opinions' on social media, he/she gets a few days off from his boss as they try to find a solution as of how he or she can best be helped (professionally) because of the lack of decency , reality and respect.
And I'm not even joking. I'm dead serious.
I get that sports is emotion but this man needs professional help.
