I lurked for a few months before actually joining and like others before me couldn't come up with anything creative for a username so my username accurately reflected that.
As noted already, this has been an entertaining thread.
Mine was one I used on various forums I was on going back to around 2001 (before settling down and marrying CP), starting with the CBS Sports, NFL forum. I'm a diehard New Orleans Saints fan, and "Saints" was already taken, so I gave them the name I sometimes called them at the time, my "Sainters"; which I never say anymore.
Somehow that was also taken, so I added the number I wore in sports growing up.
Makarov means Sergei Makarov. Sergei Makarov is the greatest Russian to ever play for the Calgary Flames. I am the greatest Russian to ever post on CalgaryPuck. Seemed fitting.

All the good hockey ones were taken, or at least burned into my brain from years of lurking.
My user name is a character from Rick and Morty. His introduction and opening dialogue is one of my favourite moments of the show. Every time I hear him say his name all serious it makes me laugh. So, that’s it. I realize it’s probably an abrasive user name, but I try to play nice.
I even kicked my CP career off by making my first post in character with my favourite line of his.

They're user titles, Jiri gave me mine. I think it's the third or fourth one I've had which just goes to show how well I've acquitted myself around here
I wonder if we should use this thread to grant one-time amnesty for posters to finally just admit who they were under a different account.

BTW, you can always tell a reincarnated user by how frequently and aggressively they post when coming anew...
