It's like he slipped a switch tonight. He's always had that in him, it's like someone was blackmailing him for the past month.

I mean he looked ok but ‘obviously’ is far from the appropriate word when discussing long term possible head trauma outcomes

Losing streak excluded, though, they haven't had to out score the other teams much, they've been good defensively and had been scoring less goals than at the start of the year.

So not a trend I would be worried about just yet.

3rd period, Flames basically went with 3 lines. Eatbread, Hathaway and Janko were left out except when Money left due to concussion protocol and on a Flames pk.

Kind of surprised Peters didn't play them when it was 7-4 or 8-4. Hope there are no injuries as 88 and 21 are playing some solid 4th line minutes for the past 6 weeks or so.

Al MacInnis?! Was that the last time a D man had 6 points in a game? Jebus

Hanifin and Hamonic are such a solid pairing.

I tried to find this but couldn't - how many other players have had six-point games this season?

Also, am I the only one that thought that Johnny scored six goals because of that picture?

Peters saw value in building up the first line's killer instinct?

Long season. Lots of ups and lots of downs. You never know and when you make the playoffs , you’re only a winner if you win your last game. One winner and thirty losers.

Not easy.

Congrats to the desert dogs who end the night in a playoff spot. Refreshing to see a team that isn't the stinking minnesota wild there for a change.

Al MacInnis may have been the last player with 6 points in a game, but Johnny is the first Flame to record 6 puntos in a game. That penalty shot conversion was huge -- I bet he's been working on it.

Almost feel bad for Blackwood -- Flames went Globetrotters on him with a half dozen of those passes that all set up goals. That kind of game could ruin a young goalie.

Oh, and how about Monahan. Gets clipped on a cheap hit, so Ryan comes on and converts the 2-on-1 with Johnny. When Monahan returns, he doesn't miss a beat and sets up Johnny for the hatty. Glad he got one at the end too.

I'm glad I didn't turn it off when the Flames went down 3-1.

Poor Blackwood. There goes his stats for the season. Whoops.
