Third line looks Hella awful. Maybe Peters will get the blender out for the bottom six tonight

Flames were completely outclassed in the first. Hemmed in their zone for minutes at a time, now sustained pressure of their own. Bad giveaways, and no 10-bell saves to bail them out.

Bad game across the board, not one good player. Even our best, Gaudreau, was sloppy.

What a different game this might be if Backlund could hit a friggin empty net.

Myself and a few others would say this was inevitable. But, He's played so well lately he is in fact permitted to have a bad game. But wait, he has lost his last two before this? So..... something may be up.
Truth is, I don't think we can lynch anyone tonight playing this Jackets team tonight. Flames look sloppy and tired and CLB has been feeling it for a couple of weeks now.

Rittich needs to make that save but it’s inexcusable to not get that puck deep in the first place.

Aww man, those late goals suck so much.
That might be the worst period of hockey I've seen from the Flames this year. Jackets have them shell-shocked.
Rittich didn't look good on that last goal. Maybe get him out of there and put Smith in for the 2nd.

Derek Ryan is a 4th line center playing on the 3rd line.

Why do we always manage to look feeble against Columbus?

Meh. We got them right where we want them.
Plus, the father's are going down to the dressing room and will express their disappointment too.

really Backlund was the swing player that period. The wide open net missed and the hella bad pass on the PK.

Ryan coughed up the puck on the 1st and 3rd goals.
We finally get the puck out and Ryan puts it into the CBJ defence at centre instead of all the way down the ice for a change.

Looks like Rasmus got an earful there from Peters. What did he (not) do? I must have missed it.

Taking a while to get to 5000

A little while back we were pondering whether or not Rittich was the real deal. I suggested we may be seeing the Chad Johnson effect. Last few games seem to be bearing that out.

Id say bump Janko up and send Ryan down to line 4.

Maybe this is Opposite Day for the Flames where we dominate the 2nd!

Peters has a no yelling at Derek policy, so Rasmussen bore the brunt of the Ryan turnovers.
