Mark Jankowski is no good, and no amount of advanced stats can refute that. He just sucks.
Perhaps he's peaked and last year is as good as he'll ever get...

Ship has sailed on any value on a trade, after his highly freak season on the PK.
Tre knew he was selling high on Jankowski when he was part of that trade and likely tried to trade him a few other times this summer, before he knew Jankowski had to step back on the ice and have his true abilities show. We are now stuck with an anchor.

How is a forth line defensive centre making $1.675/yr an anchor? Could he be better? Yes. Will he? IDK but he’s in no way an anchor.

Because he's sucked ass at everything this year, including playing defense and the PK. Call him a mini anchor if it's necessary.

He will be bagging groceries in a year or 2 with his lack of intensity and his uber soft style, despite being the biggest forward on the team.

i was a Janko doubter when he was first drafted, however, i thought he had a very good season last year and looked to be a bonafide NHLer...
not sure what has happened to him this year though? did he play a lot with Hathway on the PK? He's definitely seems to have regressed, which is unfortunate.

I had a lot of hope for him, especially after last year, but it's starting to look like this might be an accurate characterization.

What is Mark Jankowski? Whipping Boy extraordinaire.
Can't wait for him to be traded just so he gets a fair shake.

He'd get a fair shake in Stockton..
He's a whipping boy for a reason, his offense is non existent, his defense regressed, he's 8 ft tall and plays like he's 4.
I cant think of a single good thing he brings to thebon ice product of this team aside from probably being less boneheaded than Bennett

I would take pre-concussion Joe Colborne over Jankowski all day every day.

Question: Seeing as Jankowski is an RFA at seasons end, and being a NHL regular with a one-way contract.
Is Jankowski entitled to an arbitration award or can the Flames just walk away from his contract?

If the Flames give him a qualifying offer, he will have arbitration rights. If he doesn't receive a qualifying offer then he would become a UFA.

I think that would be stupid. He's having some bad luck to start this year and much of that could be because of playing time, but he could easily be a more offensive/less physical Brian Boyle type.

Bad luck? Ocean buoys don't float as well as this guy does out on the ice.
