What people focus on is his inclusive and positive values. The world needs more of that, politics aside.
Feel free to dislike Trudeau and the carbon tax all you want, vote against him next election if you want, but he´s a LEADER on the world stage for his values and that´s good for Canada. There´s no way he´s seen as a joke globally when you have the likes of Trump, Putin, Le Pen, Italy´s 5 Star movement, Kim Jong Un, Maduro and any political leader in Brazil, just to mention a few.
Like him or not, we have a good leader in Canada and we should be as proud of him as the rest of the world is.

He's a leader on the world stage?
Trudeau went into trade negotiations with China telling them to update their human rights code and they laughed him out of the country.
Trudeau is good at making himself look like a virtuous leader from afar, but if you take two seconds to look behind the curtain, there's nothing there.
Internationally he may be adored. Within his own country, he's the most disliked leader in decades.

Martin, Harper and Mulroney are up there. Even Chretien to many. When was the last time we had a prime minister that the country loved?

Oh clearly it was a comment without real substance. I just think it's fair play considering the situation kind of warrants it.

It's not worth it, not even a little bit.
BTW, I'm in Canada right now. Seems fine to me.

It’s not even that, leaders have VERY little to do with the boom/bust cycle of a market economy, much to the chagrin of every dope who needs a simple place to point as the reason something is happening. The current American boom cycle began years before trump was elected, the longest streak of monthly job growth ever recorded happened under Obama. And before anyone starts thinking that I credit Obama with that, read my first sentence. And all of Canada’s economic numbers have been moving along fine, interest rates aren’t being raised in a struggling economy.

Trump is neither brain-damaged nor a piece of crap. I don't care for him at all, but I wouldn't convict a mouse of eating cheese based on reports out of the U.S. media. Apart from Fox and the Washington Times, the major networks and newspapers have been trying to get the man impeached since the day after the election.

There is an actual investigation into his campaign and businesses occurring right now that's indicted or plead out 20 people to this point. It's not "the media".

There's also an investigation into Clinton's campaign. And an investigation into the people doing the investigations. Nobody in the whole gong show has clean hands.
And remember, the media started calling for Trump's impeachment before he was inaugurated. That is the media.

uhh, ok. So basically "but her emails"?
Everyone is guilty and it's just a big conspiracy that all these lifelong criminal investigators are out to get Trump and not just the fact that a guy who's had shady dealings for 40 years flew too close to the sun and brought too much exposure on himself.
That's what it is.
I just really don't understand what it is about Trump that people are willing to throw away ideals and rationality in order to support him? Seriously, what is it? Why is this the guy?

If anyone serving in Clinton's department had set up a private, insecure server and routed secret State Dept. emails through it, they would now be in prison. The law is very specific: lack of intent is not an excuse. I don't yet know of any specific reason why Trump ought to be in prison. I can't say the same for Clinton.

You obviously haven't heard the stories coming out about communications between high FBI officials before the election, agreeing to bring him down. That may not fit the legal definition of conspiracy, but they were confessedly out to get him.

I don't support Trump at all. But neither do I support the idiotic narrative that claims he is Literally Hitler, or Deliberately Out To Destroy The World, or the rest of that magnolious crap. He's a two-bit con artist who pulled off the biggest scam in history by knowing exactly how to torpedo his opponents at the most opportune moment. The trouble is, many of his supporters – possibly the bulk of them – know he's slime and have priced that into their opinion of him. Nobody could torpedo Trump with an ‘October surprise’ because the worst things about him were already public knowledge.

I've heard about the texts between two FBI agents. That's also not Mueller's investigation.
If Clinton murdered someone on live TV with an axe, it still wouldn't change the fact that Trump is a piece of crap. They're two independent things and not reliant on each other.
Your immediate reaction to a disparaging of Trump was "but Clinton did ... ". You're a stream of Republican talking points right now. So why you may say you don't support Trump, you're definitely parroting his base.

Speaking of brutal takes, just for the record, you literally just typed out an attempted equivalency between supporting someone who just enacted policy of taking children away from their parents, putting them in camps, and having no plan or method to re-unite them, even sending some through for adoption, to someone who suggested that perhaps the owner of the biggest team fan forum was contacted by the Flames to help drive discussion narrative.
You just tried to basically link those two things as comparible.
Brutal takes indeed.
