Am I the only one that thinks that this is horse shirt??? Soft threats do nothing, short leashes etc ...... WOW.

Get rid of GlueGun FFS.

It's just after lunch on April 9th. The end of the season was so recent it can be measured in hours.

Step away from the ledge.

That 1 for "the process"

He's taking responsibility for the performance of the club.

Hes going to self reflect and evaluate things.

Thought they were capable of more than what they did.

No emotional decisions

This season is not good enough but no emotional decisions to just react.

Knows they're missing something.

They're not changing 20 people.

Asked if emtion level is still an issue. Says theres a laundry list.

performance at critical times was lacking. (obviously)

Special teams big issue, depth big issue.

Players haven't reach their potential. can they reach it? have we misjudged what they can do?

No blowing it up.

Fell short in big moments. Not a date the team knew they were done.
(I feel like the moments he speaks of are the meltdowns against vegas when they had the game in hand etc, damn Frolik...)

Thinks theres both a Skill and Mental defiency within the team. Lacks confidence.

Thinks the stats will always regress back to the mean. (I.E advanced shot stats.... precurser to Gully staying?)

Patience preaching..... EDIT: relating to players, not coaching.

Coaching is up. You just dont spit people out time and time again. Trelving gets evaluated first. Once thats done, coaching is next.

Reporter asked if there will be patient with coaching. Was short aand said it will be evaluated. Said sometimes the best thign to do is make that change.

Ooo I for sure though he was gonna use "the process" when Wills asked about how he plans to evaluate and what tools he will use...

Home record, huge problem.

Defending trading picks. No trades were made with an "we're all in for this year" mentality.

Kind of odd for Francis to ask if humbodlt disrupted his process.

Asked if PP was near top of list for team failure. Yep. Momentum swings from special teams. Special teams cost us games. CRITICAL FAILURE

Question of Bennett. Frankly, no deep talk on idividual players. Didnt have the year he was hoping for. Gotta find out why.. Still a high ceiling on Sam. Hes in the group of player on team that didn't reach projected potential. gotta find out why. says they need more from him and we gotta find out how to get that from him.

Goalies: How confident are you in the tandem? Confident in goaltending. Kids were tossed into the deep end and praised Gillies for his play.
Smitties their guy. Thinks we have the guys here, but we're going to evaluate. A bit of doubt.

Not good enough today to make the playoffs next year. Gotta get more from young players. Gotta get better.

Will he touch the core? DING! 1 for the process! Evaluate and go from there. Can we get more resilient? Talks about growing a mind set. They need to find out what changes they needs to make before they make them.

Monny.... Significant surgeries. He'll be fine for the coing season. Double hernia surgery, 4 wrist surgeries. He hadn't had a good night sleep in 5 months. Jesus .
Cannot believe he played through all his injuries. Never seen anything like it.

END presser.

This is sure sounding like a setup for him dragging his ass in firing this coach.

Typical Treliving, so open ended that you can read anything into what he just said. A master of not saying anything.

Fro example, "not changing 20 people" to me suggests the coaches will be changed.

Or - as has been the case since he's been here - he's going to take his time thoroughly reviewing the situation.

He outright said he thinks the worst thing anyone can do is make knee-jerk emotional reactions.

People expecting the coach being fired this morning who now have the pitch forks out need to relax.

I mean he's been watching the team all year too. Is he going to undergo some investigation and uncover some blockbuster information that changes what occurred before his eyes? Just because a process exists doesn't make that process effective.

Maybe just get the coach out of the way right away, instead of delaying and then doing it anyway. No one is talking about trading 20 players here.

If the answer Tree eventually comes to isn't "we need to add more talent", we're in trouble.

If he goes down the path of grit/leadership/heart/character, we'll just endlessly cycle down this pathetic path we've been on since 1989.

I agree, although I do think that some players don't work well with GG's system because it's too formulaic. That's good for consistency of play, but it's horrible for adaptation to new challenges throughout the season. My point in discussing the system that created shots but few goals shows that they didn't deviate much from the coach's game plan, probably to their detriment. Brouwer knew how to be successful with that plan, but few others probably knew, or at least knew HOW to do it well, and it's a team game, so we can't put it all on Brouwer, especially if his linemates aren't able to be successful under that game plan.

I guess that I'm still not sure what the problem was this year, but it's clearly multi-factorial. However, the coach and game plan are connected to all those factors, so I think the buck stops with him. The talent was good enough to at least get in the playoffs, so they probably should have been there and I think GG needs to shoulder the majority of the blame.

This is just such a short sighted and uniformed take.

When the season ends, there's a process of sitting down with each player and member of the coaching staff to get feedback etc.

Reviewing all the information and taking a week or two in mid April is in no way an indictment management is satisfied with the status quo.

The lack of patience is astounding.

Not a vote of confidence, deflects the question by referring back to how he is accountable first and then says everything will be evaluated

He never said flat out "we are sticking with our guy" etc. About all you can ask for at the moment.

Weird I havent caught him mention possible system problems or coaching. I missed the start, but he seems to be avoiding talking about the coaches.

I'm not asking that the coach be fired today. I just don't think it's something that he really needs to sit down and think a ton about. He's clearly a problem.

His "process" gets too much credit from you. It's really accomplished nothing.
