As opposed to the starter who isn't ready or on his game? Yes. (this feels a lot like the debate in the playoffs last year with Elliott, who never beats the Ducks, but he is the #1 so keep throwing him out there)

When he’s only faced 7 shots and has been terrible in every game he’s played except one since he’s returned, yes.

Rittich, although he hasn’t played a lot of games, has been a ton better than the version of Hellybuyck last season for the Jets.
Look at him this season. Could happen for Rittich next season.
You never know about goalies.

Rittich was playing well enough in his one start per month to warrant more starts.
Those of us that said Smith was playing too much and would burn out were crucified for it. Now here we are.

I agree but I still expect them to look at a vet to have on hand in case. Parsons and one of Gillies or Rittich keep the net in Stockton
