The Flames PP made me change the channel. It was either that or throw the remote.

I realise they were a declining team and never made the playoffs under his “leadership,” but it’s starting to feel awfully familiar. Just that sinking feeling that you have a good roster with a coach that just isn’t up to par and tries to fit square pegs in round holes.

No movement, no one timers, two guys passing back and forth to one another behind the net, letting the defense adjust between passes.
How can an NHL coaching staff not know that that doesn’t have a chance?

Bennett's line just needs to go into full energy mode. The more they hustle, the better they do. Skilling and thinking their way through shifts hasn't necessarily worked for them.
Fourth line only needs to bring whatever they had going in the past couple games.

Flames wait till their players value absolutely plummets before trading them. Brodie will be the same case, will be lucky to get a first for him at this rate

Pretty even period for the most part. Top line looks great every time they step on the ice, and Smith is holding down the fort as usual.
But holy hell, the PP will very likely cost us a playoff berth if they can't get it together. It's embarrassing. There's no way it should be this bad with the kind of talent we can throw out there. Absolutely ridiculous that they still haven't figured it out yet.

Thank you.
Turn overs by Brodie. Zone exits and solid pinches by Hamonic.
Someone still calls them BOTH trash...

Too bad the Flames don’t have a 6’5 right handed Dman with a great shot for the pp...

Outside of not scoring goals this team looks pretty good. Please someone soothe me with fancy stats that show how we’re better than our recent struggles indicate.

At the time, people said that Hamonic was acquired to be the #4 d-man for this team. I now beg to differ. I believe he was acquired to be a true #3 defenseman because Brodie is barely a #4 these days.
I get the feeling that Brodie might be moved. If not before the trade deadline, likely at the draft.

Come on. I think it's only Flames fans that actually consider the rosters that Brent had to work with as quality (it all went downhill after the Phaneuf trade). Glencross, Stempniak, Comeau, Butler were key cogs which goes to show how bad those teams were. Take a look at the stats for the 2011-2012 team which was the very definition of mediocre.

Why doesn't the team just send Cameron home for the year? How is it not glaringly obvious this guy doesn't know what he's doing?

Taking a while to get to 5000

Just think of the massive "I told you so" satisfaction Flames fan will have after a wasted season ends and the whole coaching staff is canned. Sigh.

If only Rasmus Andersson was a LHS or GG would drop his whole hand thing. Could package Brodie with Gillies to get a top 6 scoring threat. Unfortunately as far as the deadline goes unless another D man is coming back I can't see them trading Brodie. Such a frustrating player, great skill set but the hockey IQ of a dead guppy.

The only satisfaction I would gain was that there would be opportunity for the right coach for this team. That said even if you take away the powerplay woes these players need to start doing more with scoring opportunities as it's not all on coaching.

What is bound to happen? Smith keeping them in the game?
Let's not jump to conclusions here...looked like he took a bit of a slash, no amount of rest is gonna stop that
