Well that's the real reason. Playing hockey and football at the same time explains why he hasn't produced much. His team must be out of the playoffs now.

If there is one player that stands out, as benefiting from Gulutzan's tirade, it's Hamilton. He seems to have taken his role more seriously.

In a perfect world yes except reports were NJ and Montreal would have snagged him long before our 2nd pick

That's what getting top line minutes and PP time will do for you. He doesn't get that opportunity on most teams. Playing 2nd or 3rd line on the Flames, he doesn't get anywhere near that many points.

His brother got shipped out of town around that same time too. Time to grow up and do it on his own. He's been better for sure.

Kulak is a damn good #6 defenseman. He still has upside too. Very conceivable he turn into a number 4 D.

Well of course there's always hope for him, and Lazar will be here next year anyway since he's under contract.

I meant that his full time playing time for the rest of this year could still be under threat unless he continues to pick it up like he has for the last 3 games.

Similar situation last year, where he was soft as butter for 20 or 30 games, and then upped his game substantially.

When Hamilton is assertive, and is jumping into the play, he's a legit top line defenseman.

When he plays soft and tentative, he is the source of lots of trade speculation.

Second line notably worse without Frolik. He's a good hockey player.
