It was a mistake - that's it. For everyone who has never made a mistake, you can complain all you want. To all others: please don't.

Wow - I just can't believe the crap on here sometimes....the PGTs after a loss are frequently close to intolerable.

I'm out.

Alrighty then. I must have missed the previous games where he put out Versteeg and Janko during OT. Just tell me which games. I mean, I've watched every game and I haven't seen it before.

FFS, we are one point shy of the division lead and are 7-2-1 in the last 10. So yes, we are "stuck" with GG. Poor us.

The blind GG hate of some is unbelievable.

Obviously Smith played great and got the team a point. Other good games came from 3M, Jagr, Hamonic and I thought 3rd pair was good (once Kulak learns to get his shots through...)

The first line wasn't bad IMO but the just couldn't gets pucks on net. However I credit a strong CBJ team playing hot and at home (match ups).

Flames need to learn how to be effective against this style. They had a lot of their offensive forays stymied but the game wasn't as lopsided as the shot clock but Smith was the reason for the point.

The offense needs to learn how to adapt their play (simpler, shots and rebounds). On to the next

I'll never understand this place.
Why should I be happy with 1 point when we could have made it two. Why should I ever be happy with losing.

We had a bad game and still managed to get a point against one of the best teams in the NHL. Gulutzan isn't an idiot and Brodie isn't going anywhere. Some of you really need to cool off before posting.

Brutal play by Brodie, absolutely, but let's have a little perspective here.

We're going to fire the coach who has this team in the thick of things in the standings, has gone 7-2-1 in the last ten, and finished 6th in voting last year for coach of the year.....for what exactly?

I get some fans get heated after losses, but it ain't happening.

Why is putting out Janko and Versteeg a problem? Both players have enough speed to play OT, why not try another potential combo?

You're right. I guess this just shows how GG messed up when putting together a defensive core. Brodie should have always been on the right side and we should have traded for a good left handed defenseman in hindsight. Brodie has one of the best backhand passes in the NHL and he isn't able to use it the way he did.

Versteeg has 8 points in 21 games, good for seventh among Flames forwards, and is behind only Gaudreau, Jagr, and Ferland for cost-per-point among forwards (excluding ELCs). He's pretty much the ideal bottom-sixer.

If I was to trade Brodie, which I definitely wouldn't, I'd go after a centre to take Lazar/Stajan/Freddie out of the lineup, seeing how they've combined for three points this season

Can we just put Brodie - Stone together next game please?
I know Hamonic is supposed to be higher on the food chain but the chemistry just isn't there.
Hell, put Kulak - Hamonic on the 2nd pair and move Brodie - Stone to the 3rd pair and even out the minutes, I'm okay with that.

Let's talk about Kulak not Brodie. He has great gap control, can skate and sort of physical. He will turn into a stud for our D core very soon. Something we should be happy with .

Honestly posts like these really stick out for me after a game like tonights. It wasn't night and day but keep on with the negative nancy diatribe ffs.

The problem with the put Brodie back on the right side argument ignores that he was still pretty flawed defensively on that side, it just made him better offensively.

The big problem that the Flames are going to face this year is how to generate offense when Gaudreau has an off night. I don't know if the hot streak was catching up to him or if Columbus is really that good but Gaudreau really was not able to generate his usual chances today, and it sort of trickled down the roster. 3M can cycle the puck all they want but nobody ever gets open for a chance and they usually just get an outside shot and then the puck goes the other way.

Also, really not a fan of the Versteeg promotion today. The Jankowski line became a tire-fire on every shift once he moved to that line. Not sure if it's just confirmation bias but they looked a lot rougher without Bennett.

Tough one. I know, it's easy to pile on Brodie after the game-losing giveaway. Yeah, he made a big mistake. But the sad reality is, our 12 forwards had 63 minutes to score at least one goal and they didn't. And the shot differential is just unacceptable. They need to shoot more and they need to score more. Relying on Smith alone to save the day will not get them far.

Versteeg is a sore thumb on the PP most times. Is that where he gets most of his points? You made a good point about a better centreman.Someone like Evander Kane would make our topline dangerous in the playoffs where it counts.

Was at the game. Columbus' shot counter is on glue. Yes Columbus outshot the Flames but it was not 2-1. Based on this thread it looked worse in TV. Was an exciting back and forth game live.

Take the point a beat Dallas and Colorado
