It'd be funny to see a star player with a personal endorsement deal with a company wearing the logo of a rival company.
I know that the ad revenue will be tempting but there's also the opposing force of marketing the league as a whole -- whichever of the big NA sports leagues goes to uniform ads first is going to instantly look incredibly bush league in comparison. If the NHL goes first they pretty much will have admitted they can't compete.

Canucks, Kings, Sharks, Oilers, Flames, Ducks and Vegas all seem to be together though for the Pacific.

The NBA is already putting ads on their jerseys next season, so the NHL doesn't have to worry about being first.

Just announced today (a few others have already been announced):

And if the NHL goes that route, it'll be the last dollars I spend on them.

That Brooklyn Nets ad looks just terrible. What sort of professional sports team would put a patch on their jersey that doesn't even come close to matching its colour scheme?

Yeah, if there's one consolation out of all this, it's that the Flames now have the best jerseys in Alberta. Not even a contest.

The best part about that ugly collar on the Coilers' jersey is that it's in the front, where their mullets can't cover it up.

Well, I think they are, but I'm not a basketball fan. Might as well do it when you're on a popularity climb, though.
