Flames need to learn if you dump the puck in, you need to go get it. Too many times they'd dump it in and literally just wait until a Duck went and got it and skated it out.
Release the Hathaway.

I hated Brouwer in the regular season but I thought no hoped he would carry himself better in the playoffs. But no he has managed to be even worse. Lazar should replace him the rest of the series. At last Lazar can replace Brouwer and the kid desperately wants to prove he should be on the ice.
Brouwer absolutely disgusts me.
Gulutzan should be able to see how much Brouwer is not on board playing every shift like it matters.

I was worried that four days between games was too much....and I think it was.
I expect the Flames will be much smarter on Sat night.

Elliott kept us in the game all night. He was the reason we still had a chance late in the third period. Now if the Flames can find their discipline we might have a chance in this series.

It will make a great meme with three arrows pointing at 3 ducks standing behind every Flame not on the ice with a

Literally something you wouldnt see in a bantam aged game.

Really dumb players tonight:
-- Gaudreau
-- Backlund
Unfortunately when you give these guys the puck and so much ice time, it hurts. Especially when guys like Getzlaf, Silverberg and Rakell are playing like beasts

The goalie has interference was horse#####. No doubt about it. Doesn't matter which team it was.
Our 5 on 3 was terrible.
Our line change was worse.
That and bad luck by Engo early killed us.

That 5 on 3 was embarrassing, why keep trying to score on the rush? Settle it down and set up. The ducks are like our old ex girlfriend we try impress but end up looking like an idiot every time we see them.

Yeah, NHL officiating is sporadic for everyone. I'm not a fan of all the whining but I understand why it happens. Still, Flames fans should think that their case is exceptional. Every team gets sewerd at some point.

Mix the lines, get Monahan, Tkachuk and Ferland together since they were the only ones able to move the puck anywhere near the net. Versteeg was doing well with Bennett.

Look at the time on ice. 4 lines were definitely not rolled.
Who else would you have put on? Johnny was cold, Backs was cold.
Yeesh, let's all continue to hate on the coach. The players coasted on the line change, not the coach.

Agreed. Too much north/south hockey as opposed to getting pucks deep.

The entire game turned on that preposterous line change. The Flames can still win this series if they stop shooting themselves in the foot. They are much closer to the Ducks than they were 2 years ago.
Key was to split at 1-1. That can still very much happen. The Ducks ain't won anything yet.

It wasn't to the same extent, but AGAIN it had the feel of that last week game at the pond. They just let it get in their heads that it was over before it actually was as soon as things didn't go their way. Then when they got the 5 on 3 there was just no juice, no belief.
They need to mentally pull their big boy pants up and start BELIEVING.

Discipline, discipline, discipline. We heard about it for days. The Flames are preaching discipline. Game time, 0 discipline. I don't get it.

Shots were lop sided
Faceoffs were almost 2-1 for the ducks
Terrible 5 on 3 at the end, Getzlaf looked amazing
And the worst line change I think I've ever seen
It was a bad game. Flames really have to be a lot better if they want to get back into this thing.
Also Dougie had one of his worst games as a Flame

Do people know what they're talking about when they say that we were "out coached"? Or is it just a thing that they add to the list of reasons that we lost, because it sounds good?

What exactly does Bouma do? Honestly, he's not an NHLer any more. Hathaway would be an instant upgrade on him.
And we finally got to see playoff Brouwer, and it wasn't pretty. Just going through the motions.

They played bad. It happens. They can play good. I don't get why it's a hard concept to grasp.

Because in order to win the series they have to WIN in ANAHEIM, which they haven't done in 11 years, in 28 meetings. The key thing is they never play good/win in Anaheim!!! Not sure how you don't see this.
