I wouldn't mind the Flames targeting the Senators in trades though. Senators seem to have moved into win now mode, and Dorion seems to value veterans and will overpay to get them.
In the last year the Sens have traded Mika Zibanejad, a 2017 2nd, a 2018 2nd and Jonathan Dahlen for Dion Phaneuf, Derrick Brassard & Alex Burrows.
Can't argue with the results too much because they have had a good season but I wouldn't mind shedding a veteran for a pick.

yes and when trying to discuss the prospect all Blaster said was we are jelly, real productive discussion there. You put up Forsberg stats with Dahlen's which is fine but infers that you are comparing the 2 which is unfair to Dahlen as Forsberg is an oddity and not the norm. Scouting reports would probably a much better way when we discuss this player, and if he had the potential to be Filip Forsberg he would be rated much higher on prospect lists by well known scouts. That's all we are saying

I think the Forsberg/Erat comparison is fair. Ottawa better be sure they have enough to go deep in the playoffs.

It's fair in the sense that they are giving up a good prospect, a prospect with Forsberg's potential? No, but a prospect that will be more valuable than Burrows in the future? Yes, which is why they should be mad. It was a very good trade by the nucks, credit is given when credit is due. He's still not Filip Forsberg

Hell we all spend all season fawning over prospect stats, looking at draft rankings, and comparing them to how other prospects performed at the same age.
That is all we are doing here.
Nobody said that Dahlen = Forsberg and was a lock to put up 60 points in the NHL. All I posted was that Dahlen's stats were very comparible to Forsberg (and some other SWE-1 players) at the same age.
You were the one who jumped on the idea that I said Dahlen was going to be as good as Forsberg when I actually have denied that fact multiple times.
|
Of course it's not a lock... it's an astronomical long-shot. Which is why I said it was silly to even discuss in any capacity. Which lead me to mentioning I find it funny, because Vancouver fans have a habit of getting overly excited about prospects because of how bare their cupboards are.
You took objection to that notion (obviously a sore spot for you) and then you went on to try and validate the comparison based on stats that mean absolutely nothing at that level / league.
The only thing you're correct about is asking why we're still talking about it.

He only kept repeating so that you would get the joke. Which you didn't. It was sarcasm. And for the record, Apricot is the BEST, not worst.

And that can be seen in Blasters comments. Yes we are jelly when the large core of our team is made up of players 24. They've been overhyping prospects in that city for the last decade, Hansen, Bourdan, Virtanen, Hodgson. I mean the list goes on and on.

Bieksa,Kesler, Burrows gone. I could almost start to like the Canucks. But I won't. There are still the fans.

So Dorian said he had players shaking his hand and one player wanted to hug him after acquiring Burrows. Interesting

To justify his trade that is not being well received by fans?
I don't really dispute that it happened cause I wasn't there, but I could also see why a GM might exaggerate it.

Burrows has got to be the dirtiest, cheapest worst hockey player in the NHL. No idea how this guy even played an NHL game let alone over 800. Just goes to show how bad of a franchise the Canucks are.

By way of comparison, do you think it likely anyone ever wanted to hug their GM upon hearing Burrows is on the team? *That* sounds stupid to me.

I can't fathom how as a hockey fan (even a dirty Canuck one at that) that your only comment on this isn't simply - "they should have dumped this guy a long time ago".
Burrows bites and pulls the hair of grown men, has mocked other NHLers for being abused as children and having addiction problems....
Your sarcasm is cool and all, but the guy is a sheer and utter piece of human garbage. Full stop. Anyone who has ever cheered for this guy should be ashamed of themselves.

Holy overpayment, Batman!
Given his age and declining production, I would have expected Burrows to have netted no more than a third round pick in the 2017 draft.
Given Dahlen's performance in the Allsvenskan and at the WJC and the fact that 2017 is a weaker draft class than 2016, however, Ulf's son is the equivalent of a mid/late first rounder in the upcoming 2017 draft.
Just a bad trade from the Senators' perspective.

Lmao this is the funniest thing I've ever heard.
NHL players hate Burrows. Several players have came out after their careers were over and a lot during their careers and said Burrows was the biggest scumbag in the NHL and had no class.
But Senator players were high fiving and hugging their GM LOL
