Once Shinkaruk gets up over 100 games in the NHL I would be willing to bet he's better than Granlund is today. Right now, Granlund is a more effective NHL player but he's also had 110 more games to develop his game. Long term vs short term goals.

I wasn't comparing the trade. All I said was it wasn't surprising they gave up on him for a player like Granlund. That's saying something IMO.
And he's got to earn those 100+ games to be able to compare them which doesn't look very probable. Granlund didn't just get his games served on a platter. He worked very hard, especially on his speed and defensive game and earned every minute. The way Shinkaruk is playing and his lack of effort I doubt he ever gets to as many games Granlund has now. He looks like AHL fodder to me unless he learns how to skate hard and play in all three zones. He's not good enough to go on strictly skill and his above average shot.
