I disagree that he's basically useless or stands in one spot... He's a winger and his job is to cover the point and make himself available by finding an open lane for a break out pass by watching the play when it goes below the face off dot.

this game is a throwaway, I wouldn't be surprised if TM told his guys to ease up a bit

To be fair JG is hardly ever where he needs to be when McDavid uses his speed, and Eichel has blown a lot of passes to him.

Feel like McDavid/Eichel and Gaudreau arnt working out, all three would like to carry the puck but Eichel and McDavid pass it to Gaudreau and he starts slowing down the play, If I was McLellan I'd would put a more North/South guy on that line, maybe Larkin.

McDavid has been very underwhelming. Not a bad player by any means but being touted as the next one, I expect to see more.

I see the speed and I see quick hands, but I also see an inability to utilize his linemates or if he's going to do it himself, do the kinds of things that Mackinnon has shown numerous times in the tourney...

Hoping this becomes a common theme for him as he progresses in his career...
