Which, when there is only a single team looking for a starting goalie (other than TO, who won't bring him back, and he won't go to), is prob 1.5 too much.

If we are the only place he can be a starter, he just has NO bargaining power.

IF we are asset stuck (due to trading up to 3), and need to go with reimer, give him 2.5 - 3 on a 1-year show-me, and then we have more choices next off-season if the situation arises.

I have said this before and i will say it again, the " No bargaining power" is not true. It goes both ways. His agent can tell the flames that if they don't want to go the trade route ( give up assets) ,that Reimer is the only goalie on the UFA market that is worth signing to be your starter.

Sure it can go both ways, but the Flames are not STUCK using a UFA.

There are 30 starting jobs in the world, and considerably more goalies. If Reimer doesn't want to work with the Flames, then fine. Maybe we trade a 2017 second rounder, go get someone else, and his last hope of a starting job is gone. Not only that, but maybe his career is in jeopardy as he is suddenly without a dance partner for the coming season when even more goalies are going to shake loose.

Sure, the pressure goes both ways, but I think you are misinterpreting where the majority of the leverage lies.
