Sure it can go both ways, but the Flames are not STUCK using a UFA.
There are 30 starting jobs in the world, and considerably more goalies. If Reimer doesn't want to work with the Flames, then fine. Maybe we trade a 2017 second rounder, go get someone else, and his last hope of a starting job is gone. Not only that, but maybe his career is in jeopardy as he is suddenly without a dance partner for the coming season when even more goalies are going to shake loose.
Sure, the pressure goes both ways, but I think you are misinterpreting where the majority of the leverage lies.
