You know, there is no reason Pylon has to do all the work. We have all benefitted from this thread and we should all take turns adding one of these stickers as we all know where he works.
As I am sure they will blow off or something, one of us can go by once a week and add a new one.
Don't tell Pylon though, we want this to be a nice surprise for him!!

Not a ton of updates but got a ton of 'house keeping' type of stuff done. Just little nagging issues that needed attention.
The door lock tumbler was seized, and the door latch wasn't working from the inside. Got a dealer quote for the work. $1180. It needed to be done, as being a base JK, it had no power locks, and getting out 'Dukes' style was getting annoying.
Decided to take it apart, and take a look. Disassembly of the door, and yarding out the guts took about an hour using this online tutorial:
Again, this is stuff in the past, you would be hooped, as there is a critical step involved in removing the window, that without a service guide, or intimate knowledge of the vehicle you wouldn't be be to tackle without absolutely lucking out. Basically, 2 'blanks' had to be cut off the inner door panel with a knife, to get at the window release clips.
Also, anyone who has ever had to remove a window crank, knows how absolutely infuriating removing the C-clip can be. Saw this online tutorial, and almost laughed at how ridiculously simple the solution was. Take note all you window crank peasants. This works frikking better than a c-clip removal tool. And I guarantee you already have it in your garage.
Parts to fix the door. $61.00. And 2-3 hours of my time. Saved me over $1100. The Chrysler dealer quoted 7.5 hours. And amateur pylon tackled it in under 3, taking my time, and figuring out stuff as I go. I guess I can understand some of the dealer resentment. There is no way that should book as a 7 hour job.
The drivers seat bolster was crushed, and the metal bar was digging into my back. Removed the seat, took it to Chinook Auto upholstery, and they rebuilt the bolster for $120.
The spare tire carrier was bent/broken, and I couldn't mount my spare, so I found a used one on Kijiji for $100. Dealer part was $290 + 139 for install. Just needed to swap the brake light on it, as the used one was shorted out it seemed. Took all of 20 minutes for the whole job.
Installed new headlight bulbs. Upgraded to the fancy Silverstar ZXe's. Big difference. Great bulbs for the money. Also just went around the Jeep, and replaced every other bulb. The markers were burnt out, and the bulbs are a a couple bucks a piece, so I figured I'd just spend $25 bucks on bulbs, and do them all in one shot.
Anyway, it's coming along. Still humming and hawing about what I'm gonna spray line, so I figured I'd take care of all the nit-picky things while I'm deciding.

Well getting towards the home stretch. I'm ready for the Zombie Apocalypse now. I've got it all figured out. See what I'll do is park in the middle of a fast flowing river, winch to a tree on a little island, and let the zombies come at me and wash away while I idle listening to Neil Diamond while all the Honda Civic drivers have their brains eated. It's so simple. I'll do up an MS Paint scenario diagram soon, unless someone else wants to. Anyway, snorkel done, rockers sprayed, neef bars installed and a few more interior bits complete.
All that's left is the windshield frame, and that's it. Behold the Jeep Apocatron 2000.

The subject matter is rarely important, be it vehicles, cigars, music, art, photography, sports or even gardening. It's always fascinating and fun to see the extremes & effort people put into their hobbies.
Great work Pylon, it's the polar opposite of any vehicle I'd care to own. But I'd ride shotgun through the swamp land during the zombie outbreak in that ride.
Is the snorkel enough, or do you need to waterproof anything else in the engine bay as well? Would hate those zombies to catch you with a dead electrical system and cause Neil Diamond to go silent.
