I don't think there is anything wrong with Ferrarro's assessment, which was basically that Hamilton is not a 60 pts defenseman. He's right: Hamilton will probably not ever get to that level offensively, and that's totally fine. Hamilton is still a terrific player that any team would welcome to their top four. Ferrarro's and the rest of the panel agree with that much.

Hardly a "ripping".
People thought he'd be a 60 point guy? That is news to me.

He scored 42 on a good Boston team. He came into a rebuilding Flames club where playoffs were expected, but certainly not assured. I think the expectation was to remain a 40 point D-man.

Exactly. 2002 is when I first noticed that.... I still hit refresh 10 million times per second though.

This is the day where the GMs are feverishly working the lines to see if they can get a better return on their trade, and they have to wait to hear back from others to see if something happens or falls through. Then, at the last second, they ALL call trade registry at the same time to report the deals they have made.

I love the rip ONeil said about the oil. You don't rebuild the 10 year rebuild!

Does any other sport have anything like Deadline Day? I can't think of any. Maybe it's time to put it out of it's misery.

Meh, coaching like it's a normal practice despite what's happening elsewhere. In case he doesn't get traded, it's good to have your regular practice lines

11 MTN is when we will see business pick up. I'm hoping the Flames strike earlier to avoid the phone in log jam.

Maybe in the future. If people thought he would be a 60 point guy this year, they were living in la-la-land. I'm sure some thought that he'll develop into a #1 or #2 defenseman and will be the top offensive defenseman on the Flames in a few years time.

TSN is at least having decent discussion so far though, better than the other years where it's a lot of babysitting of smartphones.

Yeah, Basketball, Baseball do. Waivers are much different in baseball though.

Not sure about NFL. But CFL does too.

In European football, the last day of each transfer window is pretty similiar. Except that something actually happens...

Anyone hear if Jones will be traded? Also I recall Treliving saying someone would most likely get called up for the road trip but haven't heard anything.

If so, that's crazy talk.
Ferraro talked about what happened this year. He was not wrong nor was he ripping Hamilton like some suggested. Time to move on...

I never heard anyone anywhere say he was a 60 pt defenseman - not even his mom.

He would have easily been north of 40 this year if Wideman weren't in his way.

And I would not be at all surprised if he hits 50 next year or the year after.

How many defensemen hit 60 pts in a year? 2? 3?

Not sure how he couldn't. He's about to get paid, plays with a buddy who's also skilled and the crowd adores him.

Nothing is missing except winning, and he knows what the situation is with the rebuild.
