a "Boba Fett Adventures" series set before ESB might be pretty cool. Have him on hunts, dealing with the Empire and the underworld of the Star Wars Galaxy. But it shouldn't be a movie, it should be a TV series. Now that Disney has a distribution deal with Netflix, they should be making EU shows for that platform.

I bought into Boba Fett surviving the Sarlaac pit when it was introduced in the EU. I didn't mind it but deep down I thought it was a bit weird that he did survive, but I liked Boba Fett so I didn't want to question it. I accepted it.
Now that they are making new movies, I'm hoping that Boba Fett comes back only in movies set before Return of The Jedi. I wouldn't mind seeing some of his bad assery in Rogue One, or an origins movie of how Boba Fett became the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy. But to bring him back to life in the new movies will no longer cut it for me.
I hope Bobba Fett is dead to be honest, one of the most annoying characters especially in the Legends EU where he made a powerful Sith Lord like Jacen Solo (who was a putz as well) look like an idiot.
Karen Traviss or whatever her name is did more harm to that character with her Mandalorian masterbatory fantasy books then Lucas ever could in 10 minutes of screen time.
I enjoyed her Madalorian books, but when she threw in a Mandalorian story arc into the Legacy books that she wrote I was thinking, "Do you do anything else?". I was tired of it at that point. I was kinda please to find out they commissioned some books that completely scrapped her last book (which was unreleased). It says she stopped working on Star Wars books due to creative differences, but she was apparently quite upset about how the whole thing came down.
Now I'm in the middle of Fate of The Jedi series, and dang, it, here are the Mandalorians, brought back for some other reason. I'm starting to hate them. I used to love them.
That would be so lame if Boba Fett came back. Like wtf?
But those dance moves tho.

I will admit that the republic Commando books weren't blindingly terrible, but they got worse as time went on. By the time she got to the legacy series which should have been waaaaay better I groaned everytime one of her books was released, I kind of envisioned her writing them naked.

Shadows of the Empire came to mind when you mentioned this...
Hated the book, another really badly written EU book where whole chapters were taken up with Xizor trying to mind control and rape Leia using his pheromones, and kept suggesting that they take a nice hot bath together.
Then Luke destroyed a million story building with the old hand grenade down the garbage shoot.
Oh and they introduced Dash Rendor a cocky arrogant smuggler who flew a saucer shaped freighter into tough spots to help Han Solo a cocky arrogant smuggler who flew a saucer shaped freighter.
Oh and Xizor literally %%%%%% a robot in this book.

For someone who loves Star Wars so much you really seem to hate a lot of Star Wars.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Well to be fair there is a broad spectrum of video games, books, movies, comics, trading cards, table top games and merchandise spanning over 40 years to love or hate. I love DC but I can definitely find some things inside of it I would rather do without. BvS being one of them, lol.
If we were talking about wicker baskets and he had a list of 20 things he hates then I would call him a pessimist.

I really love Star Wars, I grew up with it, it shaped a lot of my childhood memories (one of the rare times I even went to a movie with my dad was when ANH came out and I went on my tenth birthday, and then he made me go with him multiple times). I love the width of the idea of the GFFA, I really love a lot of the lore from a general sense.
I'm the rare person that enjoyed the prequels because I could look past a lot of the bad in it, because I loved the machinisms of Palpatine behind the scenes and the ultimate fall of Anakin Skywalker.
There are aspects of Star Wars and especially the legends and even the current EU that really give me a shiver of dislike.
There were just way too many really bad authors and really bad stories that were just allowed into the EU.
Dash Rendor, Xizor, Thrawn (Though there were some things to like about his character), a gold scaled slab of multi-dimensional child eating villain, the Vong
The over reliance of superweapons, the complete jacking up of force powers, World Devestators, Sun Crushers, Galaxy Guns.
Easy way outs, like Evil Force Ghosts, and clone palpatines, and Dark Side users far more powerful then someone like Palpatine.
They really make you cringe. Even in the new EU the novels that are being pumped out have been pretty horrible, things like a Palpatine/Vader buddy cop like book, The first Aftermath book that was just impossible to get through.
But through it all, when they get it right, its amazing.
The Bane Trilogy was outstanding, as was the fall of the republic trilogy (Labyrinth of evil, ROTS, Dark Lord (BTW the best period Darth Vader centric book ever written)), Darth Plageous was also excellent.
And sometimes you have to filter the crap to get at the good.
A lot of Legacy of the Force was fairly good, but you had to basically claw your eyes out in other parts.
Even from a video game perspective when they got it right it was incredibly rich
Tie Fighter/X-Wing/X-wing alliance, all of the Dark Forces games, amazing and still playable to this day, even the first Force Unleashed game was good until you because so over powered that you beat Vader like you would beat a paperboy for breaking your window. I'm still a huge fan of The Knights Old Republic Games and still play SWTOR which is kind of still my primary game.
I have to admit that upon reflection "The Force Awakens" was a good movie not great, but I look forward to the next chapters.
Clone Wars was one of the best animated series on TV, and I'm talking both series, and Rebels has really found its stride, but we still need a live action TV series.

There's nothing wrong with being a big Star Wars fan and absolutely large parts of or even all of the expanded universe. Growing up, I was a huge fan. Had seen the movies many many times, had all the models, toys, etc...
Absolutely hated the comics and books in the EU though. Reading some hackneyed writer clumsily expand on concepts that don't need to be expanded on was awful. Only topped by Lucas himself and the whole Midi-chlorian thing...
Also a guy that I would have loved to write a Star Wars story would have been Willian Forstchen, anyone who's read his Wing Commander books would agree.

Realistically the best Star Wars writers were Stover, Karpyshyn, Lucerno, Stackpole and Allston. Denning was also pretty good
I would also put Zahn in that list. I've enjoyed all of his Star Wars books. I did try one of his non-Star Wars trilogies but I wasn't very into them. I stopped only a few chapters into the first book, but I dig his Star Wars work.
I never was a big fan of how Thrawn was pretty much written as a punching bag for the hero's. as well he was the guy who started to make the Jedi these uber powerful to solve any issue, he'd just create a power.
He damn near ruined Stormtroopers as well with his Allegiance and Choices of One books.
Everytime I hear his name I start laughing in my head over his naming convention for Clones. IF there had been 10 copies of Luke Skywalker you would have had the final one as
Luuuuuuuuuuke Skywalker and he would have been fighting Joruuuuuussss C'both.
Sorry Mr Zahn we can't print anymore books, we're out of U's.
He was also the guy that bought us Mara Jade, the Emperor's hand, who he completely over powered her to the point where in one fight she pretty much fought Vader to a standstill, and later on kicked the a$$ of Jacen Solo who was completely uber powered.

I find your inability to suspend disbelief regarding this epic science fiction fantasy Galaxy disturbing.
