Even if Mcquarrie isn't involved with the reshoots, it isn't a red flag. It may still be because his draft of the script is better than what they shot and they based their original shoot on a previous draft.
People complaining or joking about lens flares has become way over the top now... and here I am complaining about people who complain about lens flairs.

Those death troopers are so cool looking. I recently started painting my minis for Imperial Assault. There is an english dude named Sorastro who does great newbie videos:
Spoiler!
I think I might have to try and do a DT version.

Article up with details about the characters we've seen in the trailers:
Quote:
Whitaker will bring to life Saw Gerrera, a character who first appeared in the season five episode “A War on Two Fronts.” There, Saw and his sister Steela were part of an insurgent group being trained (unofficially) by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Anakin’s apprentice Ahsoka Tano. Now, Saw is an ally of the Rebel Alliance (albeit one even the heroes are unsure of), looking to deliver a crushing blow to Darth Vader’s cause.

That's amazingly cool. That was one of the better story arcs with one of the more tragic endings. It was probably one of the major events that caused Ahsokha to leave the order.

Also, James Earl Jones has been confirmed as the voice for Vader in Rogue One.. as if there was any other choice! I just hope he made Mickey back up a truck load of money first.

Don’t expect Vader to dominate “Rogue One,” however. “He will be in the movie sparingly,” Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy tells Entertainment Weekly. “But at a key, strategic moment, he’s going to loom large.”

From what I read about the shooting changes was that they probably had to temper Vader a little bit. I'm sure that the temptation was "OMG we have a Vader Suit and James Earl Jones, lets have him kill everyone"

Weird I hate the look of Storm Troopers from the prequels/Clone Wars show. The OT Storm Trooper uniforms are my favourite, I agree that the new order ST's helmets are just off.

I will always be a fan of the OT Stormtroopers, even though what I liked about the phase one and phase 2 Clone Trooper helmets is that the eye holes just made more sense. Not to totally nerd out by the OT Trooper helmets would have serious visibility issues.
Here's what I really liked
Clone Trooper Phase one armor - Stark white, they were clones, not individuals but one large organism, they might as well have been battledroids. It goes back to one line that I loved in the Darth Vader book when a Jedi goes up to a clone trooper and has a conversation and the clone trooper says that they served together before and the jedi responds with
The voice is familiar
And the Clone comes back with
The face is the same.
With the Phase 3 armor, the troopers just looked bulker and better protected. But I really really loved the coloring on them, not only because they were unit identifiers. But if you watched the Clone Wars, individual Clones had their own markings on them. It was almost like the imagery that you saw in Vietnam, where US troops would write their dissatisfaction on their helmets and uniforms almost like a form of protest. But with the clones, it was more a sign of solidarity.
Then they moved back to the stark white lack of individuality with the Storm Trooper armor where the only coloring was on their rank on their shoulder armor. But there was no unit marking or individual marking, things like the campaign skirts that you saw in ROTS and TCW's were gone. All the troopers still sounded the same for the most part and looked the same, but it was enforced, so they represented the physical manifestation of the will of the Emperor and the Empire.
I really wasn't a fan of the New Order helmets or the armor. They went to far in streamlining the armor so I didn't feel the menace or even the survivability of the new armor, and frankly I really disliked the duckface helmets, they just didn't look intimidating like the Storm Trooper Helmets that were almost designed to look droid like and skull like.
But the best armor in all the moves were the Snowtrooper sets in Empire.

Ok that is true actually, one thing I notice with the Clone Wars ST's is that they actually have some variance in color which is nice. Much better than just armor type, Scout, Regular or Snow. This is especially true in Rogue One with those Death and Scarab troopers, a little color variation goes a long way for the 'coolness' affect.
The duck face is definitely bad and I really don't like where they moved the flash light either on the New Order helmets.
When I was a kid the Snow Trooper helmets were always the most intimidating. I am looking forward to painting those minis.
