It's a game like this that reminds me that at the NHL level the line between winning and losing is so fine.

Partly a habit after so many shoddy performances and partly due to mourning the potential loss of Auston Matthews?

Neither. Probably electrolyte mix in water.

Great effort in the 3rd and a comeback win.
I hope this is the start of a run.

I posted in the GT about Friedman writing that no one would claim Bernier if he was waived for a conditioning stint.
Would the Flames, and do they even have the cap space? Not saying they should or that Bernier is the answer at all, but NHL level goaltending would be nice.

I doubt it. Unless we have some way of getting rid of a Ramo/Hiller.

What? Are you talking about. I thought he had a pretty good game. He's our only d man who plays physical besides the occasional Wideman hip check

Can't be worse right? If there is room I'd give him a whirl.
I seem to recall I liked Bernier before TO broke him. Maybe a change of pace would get him back on track.

If the Flames could fit Bernier under the cap, then to heck with the other goalies; bury one and wait for next year.

Have you watched the full 60 minutes' game? Ramo bumped into Smid on the 3rd goal, but other than that he's been solid all night

Smid was solid. He will get another start. Raymond had some dumb plays but was also solid.

Looks like Flames have about 2m in space and Bernier is at 4.2ish for another year, so doable if some salary was dumped somewhere.
maybe the Leafs want out and trade for one of our expiring backups if we sweeten? would Flames want to?

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames
"The fans are great in this building to us." - Johnny Gaudreau on the #CofRed's support in the comeback win tonight.
Polak should explain to Johnny that the fans were laughing at them not with them.

I accurately predicted a Flames win AND no points from Benn or Seguin in the GDT.
Great game (other than that first period). Could have easily had 8 or 9 goals tonight with all those posts!
Hamilton, what can you say? He looks like he's starting to fit in really nicely here. Sadly there's probably still people who want to trade him.
Brodie will win a Norris in the next five years. That guy is so good.
Monahan was back to regular Monahan.
Bennett is awesome. I love how hard he works and how pesky he is.
Gaudreau I thought was a bit quiet tonight, but like any true great player he came up big when his team needed him the most.
Ramo was solid the second half of the game, wasn't tested too much but made a couple good saves on the PK in overtime. Those weak goals though... Not good.
Loved the goal Backlund scored. That was just pure determination and hard work.
Thought that other than the third goal Smid played a really good game (for Smid). Was a bit angry at him playing over Engelland but he stepped up and did his job.
Gio wasn't anything special tonight, but on that same note I don't think he was terrible. Played a nice simple game. He needs two or three of these in a row and hopefully he will bounce back.
Glad I didn't turn the TV off.
