Troutman suggested I check out some of the music threads on this site. You guys have pretty cool taste in music. I mostly listen to music at work and in the car. Because of my large (and ever growing) collection of music , I find it much easier to just select 4 to 8 albums on a weekly basis and just focus on those albums to listen to (otherwise, I would be wracked with indecision on a daily basis trying to decide what to listen to). Stuff I'm focusing on this week:
Against Me! - Shape Shift With Me
School of Seven Bells - Alpinisms
Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
Mac DeMarco - Salad Days
Modest Mouse - Strangers to Ourselves
Atlas Sound - Parallax
J Mascis + The Fog - More Light
The Orwells - Disgraceland

For fans of old school Canadian indie rock and especially the Halifax pop scene in the mid-90s, TUNS is a supergroup made up of Chris Murphy (Sloan), Matt Murphy (The Super Friendz) and Mike O'Neill of The Inbreds. Their name is also very inside baseball for Haligonians.

That's awesome! Thanks for posting this. Haha, my old man went to TUNS.
Very nice playlist. The German stuff at the beginning is great. We should start a thread about all the non-English language speaking (singing?) bands that we love.

It is great. It's a lock to be in my top 10 at the end of the year.
When I picked up my copy at Luke's they had a new compilation called "Taking It to Heart, Volume One". Proceeds go to the Heart And Stroke foundation. There are a bunch of local and Canadian bands on here. You can stream it here, but it's a limited edition so if you want a copy get one now.
Hefner is one of my all-time favourite bands. They were active from the mid-nineties to the early aughts. Anyway, Darren Hayman of Hefner has had an active solo career since the band's dissolution. But he is also active in a couple of bands right now -- Papernut Cambridge and The Hayman Kupa Band. This is the new single for The Hayman Kupa Band.
