I think Julie said they dropped it because the gameplay and entertainment this season was better than expected and they didn't need it. It also wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't a lot of celebrity commitments to doing the takeovers.
As for Vanessa, she will side with whoever wins HoH and will decide whether it is 4 on 2 or 3 on 3. She's positioned herself nicely between the two alliances to the point that she doesn't need to win this week, and can let the two sides take each other out without any blood on her hands.

I used to not mind Vanessa but she's way too emotional. I wish Austin and the twins would think logically for a minute and realize if they don't send Vanessa packing soon she will win. I read somewhere that last week she offered a couple players cash deals as bribes (since she is a millionaire outside of the house) and big brother shut it down

I haven't watch all of this season, but I don't understand why everyone loves, James, Meg, Jackie, The super stereotypical black chick and the gay guy (I can't even remember their names). I've only occasionally watched the show over the years, but they have to be the worst group of reality contestants in the 15 year history of the format.
They basically, suck at the comps, don't seem to play the strategy game, when they happen to gain power they wield it like a blunt object, and they just sit around crying and complaining that others are trying to take their friends out and win. James is the best of the group but they are just terrible at big brother and everyone seems to love them for it.
While the remaining people aren't all that great at least they are actually trying to win.

James is just a funny guy. The rest you listed were meh.
Johnny Mack is definitely my favorite. He's weird, smart, and he was good at competitions, although he hasn't won a lot lately.

These twins are so freaking annoying with their 12 year old gestures and sayings

The best part of that Sigmund Freud bit was when the camera was on Austin. The looks be was making were hilarious.
Hahaha

I really really really really really wish Vanessa just own it. She played Julia like a fiddle, why doesn't she just laugh it off like chilltown.
WTF, I'm wondering if Vanessa has a borderline personality disorder. When she's in the diary room it's like she really believes what she tells people "in the game"....it's really bizarre.

Her father is also a multimillionaire from stamp collecting and also a convicted felon of securities fraud.

Ideally Steve and Austin are the two people I would think could use the money the most as the twins would probably waste it on suntan lotion, Johnny Mac likely makes a very good living as a dentist, and Vanessa likely lives very comfortably.
I think Vanessa is playing the best game but unlike masterminds of past years I don't know if she actually realizes that she's the type of player she is. It seems like she feels she's the most honest player in the game that has done nobody wrong when in fact she's been the exact opposite. She totally melts down anytime she's confronted about her game. If she gets put up on the block in a bad situation it's going to get ugly in the house.

Think I mentioned it earlier here, maybe not, but I keep wondering if Vanessa is horrible at this game or a downright genius.
That little whisper to Julia was brilliant but I thought the crying and crying and... Crying afterwards was so stupid. Of course, it worked! The wedge between Austin and the twins was huge after.
Also, think Steve isn't as weak of a player and person as he lets on.

Except in the diary room she doesn't say "I can't believe I got Julia to play Austin" she plays the victim card.

I think casting Vanessa with the others is a poor choice IMO.
She is smart and pushy and bullies the other houseguests to do what she wants. Which would be fine if Big Brother didn't cast a bunch of weak players to go along with her. The only person to actually do what is smart for their game was James. Everyone else just did what Vanessa told them to do and some stupid way thought it was smart for their game.

She's certainly wired a little differently but at this point, I think she deserves to win.
Whispering to Julia like that was masterful, I'm not surprised it worked (the twins are pretty dumb) but freakin brilliant. And following up with the twins after saying "well why DIDN'T he throw it to you" was perfect.
She's a bit odd, but clever. I haven't been watching BB as long as most but she is the smartest female player I've seen in the game.
