I'm not sold on him at all. I think he caught fire and there is no way he sustains that for the next few seasons.
Dubnyk will surely be looking to capitalize on a lucrative deal though.
Honestly, I think there are a lot of good back-up goalies out there these days that have potential to be starters. The talent gradient among goalies isn't as steep as it use to be. If Dubnyk wants anything more than $4 million per season over 3 seasons, then I think the Wild should look elsewhere.

You used the S word. I agree $4M is probably the price.
I wonder what Hammond will ask for and get. Even a weirder situation.

Why can't he sustain it? He's never been in this situation before, and it was the 2nd round against the best team of the past six years that did him in.
Minnesota believes in him. He'll be a good fit long term going forward.

30 teams also makes it a lot harder to have a Dynasty than a 20 team league. I sort of wish Dollar Bill Wirtz would crawl out of the grave and set things back in Chicago. This team was not showing home games on TV, had one reporter following them on the road from the entire city back in 2006.....old man kicks the bucket and look at them now.
I also credit them for being bold enough to trade guys like Barker, Ladd, Versteeg, and Bufuglien for the returns they did. Even the qualifying offer stuff worked out because it practically forced them to trade guys at their peak trade value.

One starting goalie that probably will be shopped in the off season, is a past Cup winner, Cory Crawford. The 'Hawks extended Darling and have Raanta through next season. After the Nashville series, CC may have hurt his value, but, as the pressure increased, he recovered...so there should be a market for a playoff tested, successful, goaltender...
Q has shown confidence in unproven goaltenders before, like Niemi and Crawford...and the team has been able to protect those goaltenders, for the most part, and had some excellent games in front of journeyman Scott Darling...
The 'Hawks will, once again need Cap space, to sign "core" players Saad and Kruger, who are key members, being 1st liner with huge upside, and #1 PK Center, respectively...Moving Sharp and CC will clear $11.9million in cap space, so moving those two would make sense on a couple levels, and there WOULD be a market for proven playoff guys, that still have some years left in their careers.

I'd have no problem taking Sharp and Crawford off their hands
