I probably won't go out of my way to boo him. I honestly don't care about him, so why would I want to give him any fuel to want to do better?

regardless of their hype or standing as an organization they have called up the player who has been playing best from Utica all year when needed
since he went down hes been a ppg player and from reports on the team playing great
so it's earned

This is actually pretty scary. The Sedins have been quiet. To start the year Vrbata + the Sedins were dominant, not sure why they split them up. Could be the spark the Sedins need.
Even though it may shrink them even further depth wise, for one game, that line could take over. The only reason I don't want Baertschi to play.

sureLoss, do we know if this is an emergency recall?
How does that work for Baertschi?
Would his recall have been to replace a different player than Burrows and now Vancouver needs to bring in another forward to replace Burrows?

Unlimited recalls in the playoffs, though they can't have more than three on the active roster (or four, if they already had four up). Given the Canucks were generally healthy, I would say this is probably just a normal recall.

This just re-enforces Troutman's original comment, no?
And it certainly wasn't "all year"

Maybe I missed it earlier in the thread, but don't the Canucks have any extra players around? Why Sven.
Flames have Shore and Granlund in the press box. The Canucks must have an extra forward here also?

Well this will make a great storyline and basically the dream opportunity for Sven...
Also will likely be the game I shed any goodwill towards him.
Good times!

Sven wanted more ice time.... so Ferland will make sure he gets it... up close and personal.

|
Even if the physicality sees any reduction, there will still be no time or space out there tonight. In addition to being very physical, the other common characteristic in every game of this series has been the extremely high speed, and the relentless back checking.
I don't see how Baertschi fares very well under these circumstances. He's just not that fast, and his decision making requires something he will be short of: time and space.

If Baertschi plays, hopefully it will be extra motivation for the new-ish guys (Ferland, Jooris, Bennett and Gaudreau). Not that they need it.
I would guess they would stick in Vey before Baertschi. Either way, just have to play the same way. We will need our best game.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

the NHL said it was going to clean up the post whistle scrums... they aren't going to take out the big hits, as long as they are clean, unlike Hamhuis' cheap shot...
Sven is going to get hit a lot I imagine.

Yeah, I definitely agree with this.
He's going to be chasing unless he's swooping in the neutral zone looking for an outlet.
That's a major drawback for him in this kind of series I think. It's not the physicality, it's the speed.

That would require him being on the ice and having the puck. What are the chances?
