I noticed Johnny throwing the body around out there tonight. Leaning into guys going into the corner, open ice hits.... ridiculous that it's even possible.
As much as I wanted the Oilers to win that game, that video of Flames fans chanting "let's go Oilers" in the Saddledome is disgusting.

i think it's more like fans cheering for playoff hockey, oh and as for those vancouver fans, i'm going to relish seeing them at the dome in a few games.
With the win, Edmonton cannot get McEichel without winning the lottery, so it's a double good thing. Screws the Kings today and the Oilers for the long term.

Way too close for comfort, but I'll take the two points anytime. That first line is so dangerous right now -- they could have had 3 or 4 more goals tonight.
Watching the end of the Oilers game on the jumbotron was surreal:

I wasn't sure at the game but thought he may have blocked it. This is one of the Flames' plays of the year. If you take into account the skill and the time of game and time of season it doesn't get much bigger than that. Amazing. It sure sums up Stajan's season.

You know, even though Hrudey was tough on Hiller for that play on the Coyotes goal, I would be much tougher on Schlemko for that one. Two things he did wrong, in my mind:
1) Failed to keep the puck in the offensive zone, which essentially prompted Hiller to come out to play the puck. When the camera panned over and I saw Hiller already there, I was relieved he made that decision. Unfortunately, as Hrudey mentioned, his decision-making was a touch slow and the forechecker was there quick.
2) As Schlemko raced back to break up the play, instead of engaging the forechecker moving in on Hiller and the puck, he took a quick left and went to cover the front of the net. What?? Engage the man with the puck and let your GOALTENDER go tend to the net. I didn't like that whole sequence by Schlemko. Hiller wasn't perfect on that play but I think he shouldn't take the entire blame like he seems to be.
Anyway, just an unfortunate play that made this game more intense than I think any of us wanted! Hopefully they learn from it and move on and up.
Hiller should just stay in net. He's not great out of it. When he thinks Schlem will be there, he needs to Schlem back into the net. When there's nobody around and he's gonna pass the puck tot he point to the offence, he just needs to settle it down. My advice for Hiller is to STAY IN THE NET. We almost had 2 more goals scored on his bad puck plays.

Went to bed hoping for a flames win and expecting a kings beating of the Oilers. Waking up to a flames win and and a win by the Oilers was the sweetest ever
Everyones nerves are shot to pieces just getting into the playoffs, can you imagine what it will be like during the playoffs (once we make it)
I reckon I'll be more relaxed during the play offs if we make it. The key thing here is for the team to get some play-off experience. They deserve that at least for their work this season.

Had no idea it was Stajan that kept the puck out. Amazing.
