Incredibly frustrating.
Montreal have been dire against the Western teams for pretty much the entire season. I can't say I'm completely surprised.
The Islanders had a PP to go 2-0 up, but couldn't do it. The writing was on the wall after that.
We just cannot catch any type of break. Heartwrenching because the Kings look imperious now.

How so? They predicted that the Flames would regress and fall off. The Flames have not done that and remain exactly on a 96 point pace.
If an outcome turns out to be similar to what was predicted, but for completely different reasons, and the basis of the prediction is wrong, there is no vindication.
The Flames did not regress. The 'Corsi people' were wrong on that. Period.

I just don't see us beating St. Louis, Minny, etc. We might be out before we even see the Kings again

Habs don't have a spectacular record versus West, but it's decent. Definitely over.500
Tokarski has been really bad tonight. First time this year Price has sat down when it wasn't back to back. But without him they are in big trouble, so they will make sure he is rested for playoffs.
It just sucks for us

In my opinion, tomorrow nights game against Minnesota will be very telling as to what the Flames have in store for the rest of the season... If they can somehow pull off the win against the apparent second coming of Christ in Dubnyk, it could really set the tone for the remainder of the road trip and hopefully season.

They obviously aren't Buffalo bad, but I don't think they would make the playoffs. By definition, that would make them a lottery team.

I hope I'm wrong but reality also has to factor into the thought process at some point.

They obviously are good enough because until tonight they were in a playoff spot. The question is are they going to be good enough for the next 8 games? The race isn't run yet. If you want to think of that way then the Flames still control their own destiny because if they win all their games (LA included) they are in.
And Ramo has been playing because he's been pretty good. Why would you not go with him?

Honestly why are Vancouver wearing the Millionaires jersey. It's not even the same team! Sad.

Winnipeg GM looking like an absolute genius.
LA being LA.
True we control our own destiny but I had no idea it was going to be this difficult.
Agree at this pace the games against WPG and LA may turn out to be meaningless. Sigh.

Heartbreaker for the Bruins and electrifying for the Ducks.
Perry ties the game with 39 seconds left in regulation and then Getzlaf scores in overtime, Ducks win 3-2. Fowler gets the assists on both goals.

That's a sure lot of non-Playoff teams.
I wouldn't use the Kings as a measuring stick personally. That's not a playoff team, that's a dynasty.
|
Not using kings as a measuring stick. The flames are behind in the development stage compared to stronger teams like the Kings. Just a fact. The flames have a lot of good pieces to build upon. Pretty good for a rebuilding team!
Results are results, all the teams Calgary are competing with for a spot have cooled of hot teams and won when it mattered, that is why it's not looking good for the flames. The defense is gassed and goaltending is hit and miss at best for Calgary right now. This road trip is going to be crucial, in my opinion I doubt they have enough gas in the tank to pull it off. Excuses are for non-playoff teams.

100th anniversary of the Millionaires winning Vancouver's only Cup.
But more importantly, it's the only jersey the Canucks have ever worn that doesn't suck. Naturally, that required stealing someone else's history.
