Maybe Nelson can them under some structure and get some traction. They definitely played more organized last night than the previous meeting. The break downs were not as noticable and they actually had some steady play.

That being said, that was certainly not the Flames best effort last night and still walked away with their eighth come from behind victory this year.

These Flames are so fun to watch with all of these come backs.

Very quickly, so may not be totally accurate by a game or two, I have the Flames at 22-6 since 2009/10 (regular season) vs the Oilers.

Or, from the Oilers standpoint 6-16-6.

Who is this guy? His grading was a freaking joke and his complaint about the penalties are also a joke. He gave a lot of players 6 while giving Ben Scrivens a 5?? The reason the Oilers was leading early and still in the game was because of Scrivens and his goal post. How many times did he stopped Glencross alone? Only thing I agree with him was in Schultz and Ference' grades.

That was a great comeback by the Flames. There's so much heart and character on this team, and it's awesome. Weird how they're finding ways to win games where they don't play very well. And yet they've lost a few games where they've played lights out for a full 60 minutes. Them's the breaks I guess. Anyway, that was a great way to cap of 2014. Clearly there's still a lot of areas these guys need to work on though. Mainly our god-awful PP which will likely come back to bite them in the arse if they don't find a way to get it going. Also, they've been pretty sloppy defensively the last couple of games. Sure you can get away with it if you're playing a garbage team like the Oilers. But they can't keep playing so loosey goosey if they want to beat better teams. That game tomorrow night against the Islanders is gonna be a tough one. Hopefully they can cut down on the amount of turnovers going forward.

Wow.... That blog is very unprofessional, not to mention the writer comes off as a complete homer. I am amazed that a newspaper would be anywhere near this writer/product let alone post it on their website.

In Edmonton, even the newspapers are no good.

I think Hartley said yesterday that it's in the teams DNA to come back like that. It's kind of funny that we have players that perform that way under pressure and that when they need to make the plays they actually do.

I wonder what effect that has on opposing teams. Are they just waiting for it to happen and it throws them off their game? It's almost as if the Flames are down in the third and we get a goal, the other team crumbles because they know we're going after them harder. Not taking anything away from the Flames effort at all of course.

January 1, 2010.

The Flames had 51 points for 5th in the West, one point behind Colorado for first in the NW.

I saw Sean Monahan after the game yesterday. I said "Happy New Year." He said "Happy New Year" back.

Was out with an Oiler STH last night (yes they do exist).

Said he offered his tix to a guy for a 6-pack, and the guy refused! Lol!

Also said Schultz is twice the d-man Brodie is. I laughed and told him to go get 5 more. I'll pay for them!

Seriously? Schultz? Like the same one that plays for Edmonton?

You should have your delusional friend watch Schultz on the Buoma goal last night...so no good. He had no idea what to do.
I also quite enjoyed Halls play on the third goal, weak attempt to clear the puck (just got it higher in their own slot right to a Flames player) then went for a circle and look for a break out pass. lol

If a guy will swap NHL tickets for beer, he must be pretty desperate for beer. Could be an alcoholic.

If he also thinks Schultz is twice the defenceman Brodie is, that could also tie into the beer thing. As in, he ties one on before every game, and when he looks at Schultz, he's seeing double.

That still wouldn't make sense, Brodie > 2 Shultz
