But, as I told Flameswin, he does have another account using his name and avatar: @TLTecky

The dude (the troll) is a loser. As I posted before, he has a long history of making accounts and trolling (harassing) CP members.

...Jesus...did I just defend Flameswin?
I don't doubt the guy is a loser but in my books it's never a bad thing for someone that takes pleasure in harassing others to get an occasional taste of their own medicine.

Wow!

The stupid thing is, there is a little (not that I agree with it, but I understand it) bit to his point, but he's not doing himself any favors and obviously does have problems with how he manages his life online.

There's a lot of pitfalls with Twitter. Yeah it's a way to follow people you have interest in but it's also a means for people to harass others and it's lose-lose for many that get into public feuds. A lot of people simply aren't educated about the pitfalls or don't have the temperament to be able to ignore the criticism and take the high road. Sounds like Dater (at least in his current state) is just one of those guys that isn't a good match for this type of social networking.

One of the cardinal rules for authors has always been "don't respond to criticism". It is a no-win scenario for the author. A lot of people in other fields are now learning the hard way that this now applies to anyone.

And, as I noted before, social media is not private. It never will be, and nobody should ever expect that to change.

its funny, it applies to being a message board poster as well... i'm usually willing and ready for a good debate, but if someone is simply looking for a fight or being rude? I just ignore them these days...

I guess that all depends on if he likes you or not. Obviously the twitter guy would disagree with you. I can't comment on FlamesWin personally as I don't know him. He certainly has an unhealthy dislike for me which is fine as I don't expect everyone to like me. However I don't feel I should have to be subjected to him making derogatory comments about me in threads or taking my statements out of context and using it in his signature to mock me, etc.

You and I have had run-ins before. We moved on as I respect you here. I like all the posters here for the most part as it's a good group with differing opinions on various topics. Sometimes the arguments get heated but it's all good as it's just people being people and I try not to judge people from behind my keyboard. There seems to be a lot of you that think I'm a dick by my posting history or opinions on certain topics and that's fair but really that's further from the truth of the person which is why I try to give everyone here the benefit of the doubt including FlamesWin.

Honestly, don't take the internet seriously. It's the only healthy way to approach it.

Sorry about that. I don't try to come off as a serious dick, but I get it happens. I've tried to really tone it down over the last couple of years.

I have a pretty dry sense of humour, too, which doesn't help. For example, when I made your comment in the Big Brother thread into my signature? That was 100% supposed to be a light hearted joke. Like honestly, I thought you'd read it and be like "haha, awesome". Different senses of humour, I guess.

In the past I seemed to have had a radar for posters that take themselves seriously on here, and I guess I kind of had you pegged for that, rightly or wrongly. I do apologize though, and I think mods can vouch that I'm a way more relaxed, respectful poster than I used to be.

My 5 - 10 infraction years are behind me, lol.
