So ridiculous, yet so funny!

And that video is gold. Pure. Gold.

Scorchy is unintentionally hilarious. You can bet there was likely more polished entries and they are furious this design won. Who knows maybe the others were even more bizarre.
This freak of nature makes you laugh your guts out with his crazed eyes on the toaster head.
This is like some Japanese oddball of hilarity you want to meme over and over.

I wanted to see what my a child thought of Scorchy my daughter said

"he looks like something we would make for a school play and it kind of is scary but I like his fire boots" lol
She asked me what is he?
I told her he is suppose to be a flame. She said "really it looks like a blob but I like his boots"

Personally the site of Scorchy makes me laugh everytime I see it. I don't think that is what the Adriondack Flames were striving for but it matches that gong show of an audition video.
I can't believe they would publicize that youtube worthy mess.
Even the name Scorchy makes me laugh.
Damn this thing is funny.
I definitely am going to have a blast photoshopping him.

Holy heck this thread is gold.

Also, if you haven't already, google search this story.

Some great takes on SBNation and Deadspin.

Oh my god. I'm dying at this. Like, honestly, WTF were they thinking? This is like when middle-aged divorcees try to connect with their teenage sons. It's just so misguided you can't help but laugh.

Not sure why they needed to have Scorchy take down a firefighter - that was a bit weird and I can see why some people would be critical. Other than that from the concept to the name to the puck-head it's hilarious. And the video is damned amazing. That dance is perfection. And this thread is a gold medal winner for sure.

Please Scorchy, don't hurt 'em!!!

Judging by that audition video I'd say the gene pool in Adirondack peaked a few generations ago.

Having said that. Scorchy is by far the best AHL mascot I've seen.

I would not be surprised if he wins the next presidential election.

Tonight marks the debut of our boy Scorchy! Can't wait to see what sort of cooky criminal things he'll be up to tonight in Glens Falls.

He and Trevor Gillies are going to be two peas in a pod this year.

It's not that funny. Did Scorch set a grow-op on fire?

The PC Police might do well to remember that OUR OWN beloved franchise is called the flames. here's a link to another thread on the front page of the fire and ice board explaining it. http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=140444

"The Flames played in Atlanta from 1972 until 1980 and their nickname was a reference to the burning of Atlanta by General William T. Sherman during the Civil War. While the team moved, the nickname remained."

some people need to get over themselves this is a kids mascot for a team called the flames.

Respectfully, strongly disagree, this is highly amusing.

By several accounts on Twitter, Scorch didn't not make an appearance at the home opener tonight for Adirondack.
