Just like the Android arguments about Apple that are 10 years old, this argument is old too.

Windows 7 is basically the most stable operating system ever made.

Chrome is basically the gold standard when it comes to internet browsers now.

Newer Android phones and versions don't have the horrible fragmentation and issues that plagued early releases and phones.

The world outside iOS really isn't that bad anymore.

As for the Apple Watch, looks half baked, the lack of hands on media access to the software, and the heavy CGI use in the promo material has me thinking it's a bit of "vapour ware" at this point. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking they don't have a strong working prototype just yet, so they jumped a head and branded the dummy mockups.

I may just run out my contract, unlock my 4S and run it into the ground, really not feeling the need to upgrade again.
Agree with everything, but there are reporter videos online with the hands on for about 5 minutes. No biggie really.

Win7 is very good, for sure, but let's not get carried away here. *nix is still the standard for anything mission-critical, and that isn't going to change any time soon.

Any stats to back that up? I've worked in IT for 10 years now, and the vast majority of all enterprise systems still run on Windows. There's even been a dedicated push over the last few years to move what little does run on Unix to Windows with tools like System Center and Azure making big gains in the infrastructure world. These days the only Unix boxes I ever come across are usually networking gear or very specific appliances

You know what's funny about that argument? In my anecdotal experience, >90% of iPhones get put into a plastic case of one kind or another and never taken out.

LOL, speaking of people who are getting carried away. You're comparing a consumer desktop OS to using *nix in the context of mission-critical enterprise server workloads.

I don't think I need to point out what's ridiculous about that.

Anyone still trotting out the "*nix is still the standard for anything mission-critical" line hasn't paid attention in the past seven years.

That's interesting that the enterprise world is making a push to run things on Windows.

For a different perspective, I've worked at various tech companies over the years and I have yet to see anything run on Windows. All the servers I've worked with are UNIX (RedHat, Debian, Ubuntu).

As for iPhone 6, I really want a bigger screen than my 5S.

I feel that 6 is too small to justify paying $900 (no contract) and 6 Plus seems too big. I guess I'll hold onto my 5S for another year.

The Watch should be interesting. Right now it seems pretty gimmicky but I can't wait to see what kind of cool apps will be available on the Watch in a year or two. Wearable technology market is definitely the next "tablet" market.

Look my point is that OPO is a good phone yes, but an iPhone no. Every single article has qualified what a great phone it is for the price. That I would agree with. They say the same thing about a Hyundai Genesis.

Look at the camera, it has more MP but is panned. That speaks to quality. Look at the touch sensitivity issues, again quality. Also, before we say OPO has a better display because its resolution is a better number, wait for the true test from DisplayMate or the like.

Look OPO I am sure is a great phone for the price, just like most Nexus devices. I've been fooled 3 times now on that. First was a Galaxy, then a Nexus 7, then a ASUS ZenBook. All three times I returned to the store because either it felt cheaper, or touch sensitivity was off, or just lack the fit and finish that an Air trackpad has.

So all I am saying is if you enjoy using the OPO great. I just will stick with what has always performed exactly the way I expect without headache. That is why I keep with Apple despite my tries to get away from them. The price premium is worth it to me.

So U2's free new album is apparently forced onto you whether you want it or not by iTunes. Is Apple trying to harm it's image by forcing such crappy music on people?

I run a windows 7 HTPC, that thing on the most mundane task day in day out needs its monthly registry cleansing and maintenance. I barely touch my macbook.

My ipad gets all my texts, my apps are shared across my phone and ipad... soon I will be able to answer calls from my ipad and macbook. Itunes match takes care of all my music across all my platforms, including windows.

The NFC features matter more in the US than Canada. They still barely have debit, which we've had for 20 years. Consumer banking in the states is a trip down memory lane it seems. I'm one of the folks that panned the larger phones until now, still not sold on them completely. I guess I'll see with the 6 plus, I like carrying my phone in that little top pocket in my jeans so I don't have to encase a beautiful phone in a cheesy otter box or other plastic crap.

I'm more wondering whether Apple is actively working on virtual reality in secret. That seems to be one of the things every big name is working on, but Apple has not leaked anything yet. But it's a logical choice given what Apple is all about.
