The fact is, a message board is not a democracy - votes are irrelevant. The CP brain trust is entitled to run their site as they see fit. They consulted and engaged the community, which is more than you can ask for.
And of course, we are entitled to discuss this ad nauseam - but there is a difference between constructive criticism and blind criticism. Statements like: "The worst logo I have ever seen ", 'worse than the sabres logo', 'it looks like someone spilled spaghetti sauce on it', etc - do nothing but insult those that contributed the logo and insult the intelligence of folks like Bingo who operate this site out of the goodness of their heart.
Smarten up.
As a side-note, and not to engage a debate, but from someone that works in the design field, it is clear that Options K & G, although popular (and equally great) were not ideal for a small website logo. There was too much content for the medium (imagine being able to read the text on the corner of an iphone). The Option that was chosen, regardless of taste, is well suited for the medium.

Holy crap guys, it was one poster that made the over the top remark. Most posters are just expressing their views now that it's been pasted on the site.
Photon literally put it up there before the revamp just so we could see it, like what do you expect? There's lots of thread titles that don't have the words "Calgarypuck logo" for you to click on if you don't like seeing it discussed.

To be fair, while it most definitely is, in fact, one of the very worst logos I have ever seen, I am in no way questioning Bingo's right to use it. I am also not suggesting that I should have some sort of veto power over the design of this site that "I don't pay any money to use."
All I said was that, in my 40 years of seeing logos on various products, this particular one is among the worst of them. I think the ensuing reactions to that opinion have been much more "over the top" than my opinion itself.

To me the new logo is a great concept that could have been executed better. I'd love to see the "CP" from Option G on this one.
At the end of the day, I'm as neutral as neutral can be about it.

It may be the posters desperate need to feel superior to others by suggesting those that complain about the logo are part of the "entitlement" culture, and therefore not as awesome as he/she is.
#1. This is a discussion board
#2. There is a thread on said discussion board to discuss the logo
#3. Folks are discussing said logo, some folks hate it, some are neutral, some like it
#4. 'Some' folks are then criticizing the posters (somewhat personally I might add...see entitlement nonsense above) who don't like it, and suggesting they are whiners.
We could do with a little less of #4, and a little more of #3 I think.

IMO, it doesn't look very modern, but it does incorporate a lot of the elements you'd want for a Calgary Flames forum logo. I also think it would look better if the pucks edges were more squared off. Right now it looks more like a curling rock then a puck.
Either way it's not going to change my experience on the board and I'd rather waste my time arguing about Kane/Toews or Getzlaf/Perry
