It's the number one reason that Version 2 is the worst design. The most striking feature of the plate (the mountain on the left) will be covered by the white month sticker for your registration.

All three of those suck. Too busy.

I'd probably go for #2 if not for the white band. The first and third are cartoonish and lame.

I doubt that. Yes, all new plates will be the new design, however I'm sure you can keep using your old plate.

Unless the government wants to cycle through a complete set of plate numbers for the whole province for no reason. It's not like the registry is going to have your current plate numbers ready to go on the new design.

They've actually changed the directions a few times, so you can only judge if someone's plate isn't too old.

I don't follow the directions for the year sticker. I just put every new sticker over top of the old, expiring sticker. The stack is starting to get a little thick now so I might have to try to remove the old stickers or use the other side from now on.

The first is the best.
Simple, and it's not too cartoon-ish.

I like the first design the best.

I like the alberta.ca instead of some slogan that people would never be able to agree upon, the only issue is it's placement. Most people will get one of these new plates when they buy a new or used car at a dealership, and most of the plate surrounds dealers put on will cover it. I think it may have been better if the "Alberta" logo at the top incorporated .ca into it. Then you can just leave the rest blank.

I actually like the third one the best since it features all of Alberta's elements with the mountains, foothills, lakes, and land, but option 1 looks the cleanest. Option 2 is just butt fudge ugly. How are people voting for that one? Yikes.

I don't think it is a cooincidence the orange and blue colours match the PC colors. Now they don't want Wild Rose to suggest another party.

Who the heck was paid to make the second design when the above could've just been done?

Ok people, I was able to move 1 from 39.44 to 39.47 in about 5 minutes at approximately 4.5 vote/min. We need a mathematician to work out the required manpower to get the 'bootleg DVD art' as one poster put it, out of number one.

If CP could Jihad something so big, that it affected the license plates this province uses for the next 30 years, it would be our finest hour.

Wannamaker was our trial run, we didn't know it at the time, but this could be our destiny.

Mac instructions.

repeat....

Someone figure out the PC sequence.

Google Chrome:

Open New Incognito Window
Paste in Web Address
Vote
Close New Incognito Window

Repeat steps as refreshing and going back in the browser just gets a message that the vote has already been counted. Opening a new icognito window each time allows you to vote as many times as you open a new incognito window.

I don't think it's anything sinister like that. I suspect the colour scheme was chosen solely because designers can't get enough blue-orange contrast.

39.61 now.

The spread is only about 14% so it shouldn't be hard to cover a 7% gap with enough people.

I was going to see if I could make a script for it but it looks like they're at least clever enough to have a unique value on each page load that I assume would be used when submitting the vote.

I started to dig into the Javascript to see if I could figure it out but I hate Javascript. From what I can see though the Javascript calls a /vote.php URl, so it should be possible to figure out the URL to register votes.

Yeah that might work better, assuming a bookmarklet pulls down a unique page each time and submits it and throws away the cookie or something.

They use polldaddy.com which has an option of limiting votes from IP addresses, I guess they didn't want to limit that as it would limit people at businesses and mobile devices and such.
