I noticed that after I took it. He's in at least one other year's pics so I will see if I can get that one and match it.

Colborne is on pace to finish for 39 points in 64 games (which is almost 50 points in an 82 game season).
Meanwhile the two enforcers that the Leafs decided they needed more than Colborne are in the AHL.

Colborne has been a great pick up. He's a solid middle 6er for us

I've said it before, but we flat out stole Colborne from Toronto. He won't ever get the headlines Monahan and Johnny do, but as a middle six C/W flex man, he's so valuable. Championship teams need what a Prime Colborne brings to the table.

He is a great middle 6 C or winger as GreenLantern mentioned. I think he can definitely add some muscles to those legs of his and core and become a bigger guy. Maybe not a big player like Jumbo Joe in SJ or anything, but there is definitely room for some physical growth out of him in the off season.
Seems like a great team player and is getting better and better. Definitely WON that trade with TO. I wonder if TO could use a guy like him right now??
Maybe someone should give Gary Roberts a call and get him training with the best.

Getting a little sick of reading the Baertschi thread, thought I'd bring up this guy tonight.
In my humble OPINION, I think Colby's potential is worth getting excited about as a Flames fan. He's big, has good hands and pretty good vision. Sometimes he reminds me of Rick Nash out there, sometimes he looks like Jumbo Joe on the ice. Now I'm not saying he's amount to them (obviously) but I REALLY hope he has a really good off season and really takes off next year. He has the tools to do so... Once again, in my opinion.
Curious to hear what others think of Colbourne's play and potential.

I have been a little bummed about his play of late.. Hasn't done much.. But he at least is using the body well.. I hope he picks it up and does well next year as well.

He has won me over since halfway through last season. Protects the puck well, is an underrated playmaker, and is great on the shootouts. He is physically immature still, and another off-season or two will go a long ways into making him a key depth guy on the Flames. It is players like him that are often the unsung heroes.

Yeah, I'll admit I feel much the same. There's this persistent struggle in me which flips between love and wanting more from Colborne, so it's sometimes hard to be bias here.
The gifts are all there. It's really up to Joe. Cliche, yeah.. it is. But it feels right.
Colborne is awesome and honestly, I don't mind saying that. There's a lot of Colborne fans here in Calgary.
Go Joe!

6"5 and he plays as tough a Johnny. That bugs me. The rest is a pleasant surprise.

I think he's been pretty physical (last game he put a guy down hard on top of Ramo).
The one thing I noticed though, is that he has often not been given a lot of time by Hartley, even in games where I thought he was standing out. To some extent it was a factor of what line he was on and also the fact he doesn't tend to play special teams. But I was starting to think he was in the doghouse a bit.

Colborne keeps the puck like he has glue on his stick. Just able to wrestle it on the boards without a problem. Surprised he's on the lower lineups but maybe this will change when Stajan rejoins.

The trouble is he passes and shoots like he has glue on it too! Zing!

He just needs to have Johnny nearby, which he will tonight. Then he can just dish to Johnny immediately after wrestling the puck loose, and Johnny can fire a laser pass to one of the d-men or Jooris.

He's one of those players that has the size and tools to be a very good player but has never quite put everything together to be the player he can be. At this point I'm not sure he will ever reach his full potential but even at that he can be a useful player for this team going forward as he's almost in his prime years.

I was reading the Rangers forum a few games back when we played them. A few of them were surprised how much better Joe plays now.

It's really wierd, for all we just don't know what to expect out of Joe Colborne, he has a +10 on the season which is tied for the best among forwards with Bouma, even though he's been all over the place in terms of deployment.

The fact he can do this = long career even if he doesn't become a big time scorer.
