Heritage Classic doesn't work when your only heritage is self immolation.

Canadiens vs. Leafs and Oilers vs. Flames and then end it for good.

Winnipeg or Ottawa will host one in 2016 or 2017, it will actually be outdoors, and we'll all forget this mess.

So I have to ask the Canucks fans. Between blowing a 2 game lead in the SCF to Boston, and burning your city down TWICE after epicly failing TWICE. Where does this embarrassment rank?

There was a lot to be embarrassed about today when you look at the whole picture. The fake snow, closed roof, and costume jackets has to be ranked right up there.

Judging by the availability of tickets so late ... I'm guessing Nuckfan has checked out, so this probably ranks low.

ya, those costume jackets seemed a few sizes too small as well. A little snug on ole Torts.

The jerseys looked awful and the same was hard to keep track.

Today was a black on the NHL and supposed outdoor games I guess.

Don't forget the false attempt to credit the Canucks with a Stanley Cup via the Millionaires.

I missed the game, but from the broadcast did it look like NHL reps handed out enough free tickets to make it appear to be a sellout on TV?

Most embarrassing thing to me was them trying to promote this game as a rematch of the 1915 Stanley cup finals.

For those complaining about the roof being closed, they didn't really have a choice. It's been raining for two days straight in Vancouver. You can't play a game when the ice is getting rained on the entire time. If you want to say how dumb it was to schedule an outdoor game in a city that gets a lot of rain, fine, that's completely normal. To complain that the players weren't getting rained on is dumb.

I talked with a few people who went to the game. They said it was really tough to see, and they never saw any of the goals being scored. They said it was a big waste of time and wished they had stayed home. The canucks lost, so that made me happy.

rain in Vancouver you're kidding me....I think most people are saying its just a stupid location/venue to begin with and an "outdoor" game in an enclosed football stadium with fake snow is beyond ridiculous.

We can all agree that the Canucks losing was just the icing on the cake

Which is incredible since for the Flame heritage classic game I sat in -30 weather and loved every minute of it. That was definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life.

There are several others here, on twitter, etc. They couldn't open the roof. Many of us thought it was a dumb venue in the first place, with rain being a huge reason, but so many are complaining that they didn't open it today. There is no way they could have opened the roof today and played a hockey game.

Agreed. Although it was probably the coldest I'd ever been, I definitely enjoyed the game, especially going with my brother who is a Montreal fan.
