Bummed I didn't get to see this game, but watched the highlights and wow! Ridiculously pretty play from Westgarth. Backlund's goals were all about being in the right place at the right time, love to see it.

What happened to Ramo? Should we be worried? Only positive I can think of is that we might get to see a tiny bit of Ortio in a big game situation...

As per tsn:
It's Calgary's fifth straight victory and also completes a perfect 5-0-0 homestand. The last time the Flames swept a homestand of that length was in 1997 - Jarome Iginla's rookie season.

Wait. So I need this clarified. Wasn't this game slated to be a 3rd jersey night?

Did they purposely not wear them in order to have the best chance at keeping the streak alive? Given the track record so far and all..

Good after hours. Good to see the sumo hilarity. Was that Bouma with Grats?

Easy to understand how Stajan is respected in the room. Hilarious Stajan bomb/ towel walk too.

These kinds of things get into players heads. So glad they didn't wear those abominations tonight. Maybe they can retire them after this season? Bad luck AND mind-numbingly hideous. Blech.
Now if only they can replace Berra in the 3rd period while they are ahead They can put him back in if it goes to OT though.

Yeah, they really need to implement a 'Berra rule'. You can bench the goalie just for the 3rd if you're ahead (because they suck at closing out). And sub them in just for extra time if required (because they're suddenly awesome once the clock goes past 60:00)

Why institute a rule? They can already do that if they please. Could have done that tonight if they wanted to.

Because it's cooler if it's a rule. That way you can explain in two words what the #### you're doing when it happens...and everybody would just respond with "ohhh" then nod in silence and recognition of your clever doggedness.

(^ gawdamn some people just suck the fun out of everything..)

Giordano is now 3rd in the league in PPG, behind only Erik Karlsson and Duncan Keith.

If only he'd played another 15 games to this point (how many most other top d-men have on him) he would be up there at the top in the points race for sure.

Well, he did say two conflicting things.

"I told Hartley to play him until he drops" and
"I don't tell the coach what to do" (paraphrase).

Those two are somewhat mutually exclusive. I'm glad that when it comes down to it, Hartley is still the one who makes the coaching decisions.
