Your (likely) Heisman winner has a classic pose to hang on the wall.

ugh... it's called a rivalry game. They schedule each other every year. there is no way in hell they will not play each other. So in reality they are "forced" to play every year.

So with Pelini, first of all, I'll miss Fauxpelini. That might have been the best thing on Twitter.

I guess Nebraska was sick of their team not showing up in big games - and a lot of that falls on the coaching staff.

Are Nebraska kind of like the Oilers? Unrealistic fanbase with crazy expectations from the past?

I think Ohio State is elite, Michigan could get there. But Nebraska can no longer be one of the elite.

I get the feeling Alabama would be installed as at least 3TD favourites over Ohio State. Remember Ohio State got crushed at home to a sub .500 Virginia Tech team. Virginia Tech just played Wake Forest to a 60 minute 0-0 game. Yikes

The Big Ten is marginally better than the MAC right now. They might sneak into this playoff but it would be in the conferences long term best interest to miss out. If Ohio State does get in and gets Alabama, it would be crushed and the Big Ten would be viewed as far inferior to the other conferences and unlikely to get serious consideration without having an undefeated team.

Couldn't agree more with senator about the B1G.
Ohio state should be no where near touching the playoff, but part of me wishes they get included so they can get pounded by whoever they play and their fans STFU.
To me it's a pretty clear cut top 4 of bama, Fsu, Oregon, and TCU as it stands right now.

So TCU leapfrogs FSU this week, with the Seminoles dropping down to 4th. But TCU's position looks incredibly precarious, given that the other top 6 teams all play teams ranked 16th or above, while TCU plays Iowa State, who's at 2-9. So TCU probably needs a lot of style points to hold onto 3rd.

OSU won't get in, even if they beat Wisconsin - without their starting and backup QBs, they don't have a chance. They'll be lucky to win whatever big bowl game they get sent to.

UAB got screwed by Alabama (BOT controls UAB) and pulled the plug on the football.

I hope this 4 playoff team system is short lived. The committee is more annoying than any other and are so smug in justifying their rankings.

They put way to much value on how teams are winning games. They way over-rate the SEC and PAC12, and way under rate the ACC. ACC is done very well in out of conference games against all conferences the last couple years. SEC hasn't at all. With so few out of conference games though, it really is just guess work to compare teams in different conferences. A zero loss ACC team should not be in fourth place though, and I don't even like FSU or their quarterback.

An 8 team playoff with 5 conference champs and 3 wild cards is really the only thing that makes sense, and is the only way to decide things on the field vs having a pretentious, biased committee deciding. I think if Miss State won, they'd have FSU out of the playoffs all together.

If this year had been the old BCS system. Would they have really left undefeated and defending champions FSU out of the Championship game over two 1 loss teams?

We hear this every year pretty much. Every year other than last year it's all "SEC is overrated, they get rewarded in rankings too much" and then in the big game they just win again and again. The best way for the high rating to stop is to beat them.

The only reason FSU is even in 4th place is because they're the reigning National Champs. If they weren't they'd be out of it. Undefeated is great and all, but when you see their games, they're not a top team. Too many late comebacks needed against teams that have no business in a game against an actual top team.

Yeah. But if they're trying to legitimize this process, dropping the undefeated defending national champ from the final selection of 4 probably isn't the way to do it.
Style points shouldn't matter.

BCS would have FSU 2 acccording to these guys:
https://twitter.com/BCSKnowHow

I'd be really curious to see how the committee would shoehorn in an SEC team if Alabama loses Saturday.
