13 seasons? Guys...just...let it go. If you havent found whatever the hell you're looking for by now? Just let it go. It either probably isn't there or you just have to make peace that you are crappy treasure or curse hunters or whatever the hell it is that is supposedly there.

I never got into this show but I saw an ad for Season 13 and all I could think of was..."these guys are still at it??"

After 13 years you could have built a house on Oak Island and the Curse would probably have come to you by now...statistically one would think that after all this time you'd have stumbled over any curse or treasure on accident just by probability alone.
I'll move this over here. I forgot there was a dedicated thread.

Can any big fans tell me what the draw is?

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

I can only speak for myself, but I lived in Lower Sackville from grade 4-9.

This was covered in school, I $#### you not.

It is pure nostalgia for me.

I do hope that they get some nice finds this season; I can't help but admire the dedication and enthusiasm of the Lagina brothers and their ability to get people to join their cult team.

And I'm sure it's a nice boost for the local economy too with the filming and public attention.

The brothers and all the rest of them must make a decent income from all this. Maybe thats the real treasure from the island.

Haha, yes, and the friendships they've made with each other, which actually do seem genuine!

I tip my cap to em. 13 seasons of Al Capone's Vault is quite an achievement!

Went and read this entire thread, and it's mind blowing.

YOU are the treasure!!!

They have dug and explored and theorized for 13 years, and as long as they kept doing that, folks continued to watch. Believers, non-believers, family of non-believers... they got your eyeballs!

The "treasure" is that they made a decade and a half of a TV show they could sell to advertisers with basically zero budget and no actor unions because "for whatever reason people are watching this slog".

This isn't a critique btw. When you watch a show long enough, you start to feel a relationship with the people on it. So for some of you, it's just spending time out in the woods with your buddies without getting mosquito bites and Giardia. It's relaxing and gives you something to talk about.

Of course (as most viewers probably already know) There isn't / never was / never will be any pirate gold here. Other than your recurring attention.
