In any election, you can be less popular but can still win if you can get out voters. If you have a good strategy and good team to execute the strategy you can win.
There was a huge crowd out when I voted today. Very busy around there at 1230 anyway.
I of course voted Anders just to piss off the CP left wing!

So the results are pending but someone tweeted a story that Liepert won... but if you read to the bottom of that article, it was followed by text which said Anders won. In other words, the Herald had their stories ready for either event, and someone found the link.

Still waiting. twitter is going nuts, and you can't trust what you read. Good tool, but because attention is the name of the game it promotes jumping the gun.

Edit: so the Calgary Herald had both stories available on its site and accessible, even though results not known.

I wonder if Harper is nervous about this, since it definitely seems like Anders has some horrible pictures or something.

Liepert wins! Finally Anders is out. Can't say I'm a fan of Liepert but getting Anders out was the primary concern. I'm glad there was no vote splitting, otherwise this wouldn't have happened.

Wow that's great news regardless of your political affiliation.

Still he is of that breed of politicians like Harper who never had a real job.

He'll resurface with the conservatives somewhere else I bet.

Anyone know the vote count? Is it even made public for riding nominations?

If/when we ever move back to Calgary we will likely live in this riding, and it will be better now for this.

Any chance he seeks the nomination in a different riding?

My wife and I will be voting tomorrow. Anders has to go.

I'm not in the GD riding and I had been getting calls from Anders. Kudos to the people actually in the riding & who voted.
