Such a change from a few years ago when the Flames were right up on the contract cap, but yet the numbers were filled with players with zero hope of making it. Now, Flames have so much contract space, but also legitimate prospects knocking on the door within that 45.

That's good. You are probably my favorite (and arguably the most level headed) poster on the site and it is always nice to hear your insight and see things from your perspective. Don't do that to me again.
I agree on both counts.

Yeah, it's pretty bad when you're just waiting for guy's ELC's to expire and hoping they don't get a qualifying offer.
A good soldier, really enjoyed that 10-goal season a couple years ago. He is one of those big guys you would like to see him use that size and strength more to his advantage. He will be good for Anaheim.
Conroy was on the radio today and said that Jones had been playing wing. He was on Street's line apparently (although he takes face-offs on the right side and does well). Bouma-Colborne-Jones might be an interesting energy line that can play 10+ minutes.
Good luck to Jackman. Hope he works out better for the Ducks than Niklas Hagman did.
On another note, does anyone else find it incredible that the Oilers actually got a 4th rounder from the Sharks for Mike Brown, yet the Flames got a 6th rounder for Jackman??
As bad as Jackman has been at playing NHL hockey since after the 2010-11 season, Mike Brown is arguably an even worse hockey player.

I think we are clearing a contract spot for a trade. Book it.
