^Cogliano got switched to the wing I believe. Backlund could be tried on the wing to see if playing the simple straight-line game of a winger suits him. The league is filled with guys who switched from center to the wing at some point in their careers

4 or 5 teams have kicked tires on Calgary's Mikael Backlund. Flames willing to move him.
Backcheck must be heartbroken.

I can't see a way the Flames could win a Backlund trade at this point.

As long as we don't have better centres to replace him, why not hang in there and hope he gets better? I don't think Knight, Reinhart, or Granlund would be adequate replacements for Backlund at this stage of their careers.
Knight looks really good in Abby. IMO he will get called up if backlund is traded.

I have to admit that I'm really impressed by the way Backlund has been playing lately. Right now he's a real asset to the team. Glad I'm being proven wrong. Hope he keeps it up for the rest of the year.
