I was in Washington state in the summer and got all
My booze at Walmart. Colorado and Washington have both legalized weed, I would assume the alcohol laws are also similar.

I don't see anything that odd about it. I mean not more odd than people generally are.

Are there any pictures of her injuries? You'd think so as she went to the police a couple days later supposedly.
We wouldn't have to speculate if there were evidence. You don't see anyone claiming Chris Brown didn't beat Rihanna.
Wouldn't it be in her best interest to release photos of the injuries?

In this world we live in, where everyone holds a camera in their hand dozens of times every day, you'd think there would be pictures. If the thought ever crossed her mind about going to the police about the multiple beatings, she'd have taken pictures as evidence.

Media in Russia like dirty laundry as much, as anywhere. A lot of witnesses, police came to the site, it happened several times — still there were no leaks to the media and no speculations on fans forums. Yaroslavl is hockey town. Even some fans in NA know Locomotive Yaroslavl. Varlamov lived and played there since 11 years old, he's sorta like Mike Vernon was in Calgary, everyone knows him there. There's no strange in police doing nothing, but there's no way such things could go unnoticed by media and local folks. Screams lie to me.

^ Well you obviously haven't been to Russia then, even in Latvia (Former Soviet Union where I was born/grew up in) it was the same thing, #### like this happened daily, I got robbed as a kid all the time, saw thing way worse than this and police didn't do anything... I 100 % believe this girl at this point in time (I know Russian so even how she is talking, what she is saying... no way she is lieing)

I think you misread my post. I said "it's NO strange police did nothing". The strange thing is that such a wild actions of hometown star goalie in a hockey town went totally unnoticed by media and local fans, specially with his girlfriend being a hot model and allegedly many witnesses regularly being on site.
And, as a sidenote, in my 32 years of living in Moscow, I never been a victim of a crime (although it obviously does exist here).

Odd is that she pretty much admits that she had no problem, as far as calling the police goes, with alleged "fight" with Varlamov until she realized that she was kicked out for good. Which is particularly weird because she claims that she used to be calling police back in Russia when he was beating her. Which is another blow in her case. This is a strong argument for "golddigging" accusations as she literally admits that she only went to court when she realized that he's no longer going to support her.
There's also a direct contradiction in her words
Vavrinyuk: The police came to our place several times at Yaroslavl, but he remained unpunished
Vavrinyuk: I didn't want to go to the police this time either. But when I got back home, I saw my stuff by the door. I was thrown out like a dog. And that was the reason I decided to go to the police.
So did or did not she turn to police in such situations before?

Call me crazy but I'll let the police/courts figure it out rather than dissect some media interview to determine who's telling the truth.

Why not discuss it since the thread is about it and I feel like it? It's like jumping into a thread discussing, say, Flames lines, with comments like "call me crazy but I'll let the coaching staff sort out the lines".

Pretty confident that discussing the Flames lines is a bit different than accusing a girl who may have been beaten a liar based on a media interview.

It might be simply be that she was willing to put up with it as long as he paid the bills or as long as she felt he loved him, or something. Either way, when he dumped her, she had no incentive to not sue him.
Yes, that could mean she's a gold digger, but you can't beat gold diggers either.
Besides, people tend to be much more hesitant to turn to the authorities in a foreign country than in their home country.
