Heck no! I don't want him around the kids on the farm team.

Bury him in the ECHL?

That would be funny, although it wouldn't exactly be a surprise if he refused to report to the Aces.

To paraphrase Brian Burke, I expect my as of yet unborn (for that matter unconceived) children to boo Erixon's children, should he have any, no matter what they do.

Wanting to get back Tom is like wanting to get back with a fling that tossed you aside for a supposedly better man who then tossed her aside quickly as well. You're better off without her.

Had an idea!

I'm fine with what he did simply because him moving out gave Brodie the chance to shine.
And shine he has.

No thanks to bringing back Erixon.
IMO, what he did was worse than what Eric Lindros did. Lindros was at least up front from the beginning about not wanting to play in Quebec. He didn't string them along for almost two years before saying no. Also, he was the most anticipated first overall pick since Mario Lemieux and until injuries slowed him down, he was among the top players in the league. He may have been a self-centred primadonna, but unlike Erixon, he at least had the talent to back it up.

I don't understand why anyone would want him "back" after his antics. The farther away he is, the better.

So, as it worked out.
Erixon ...demoted again.(AHL)
Horak...(AHL) who knows!
Brossolt ..demoted from the AHL (ECHL)
McColgan ... Demoted from WHL (BCHL) complete bust
for
Smid (NHL) solid player
Granlund (AHL) looking good ..tied for goals with the heat
Wotherspoon (AHL) not bad ..leads heat in +/-
|
It's actually better than this...
Horak is a net wash as he was acquired for Erixon (in) and then moved for Smid (out). So...
Erixon, Brossoit, McColgan
for
Smid, Granlund and Wotherspoon
And I still think Wotherspoon will be a better defenseman than Erixon will

Talk of re-acquiring Erixon is ridiculous
There are numerous (if not dozens) of other defense prospects that we could target that would fill the same role.
Why go after the one that snubbed your organization?
Also, with Brodie and Russell on the team - both being substantially better and play a similar role - exactly where would Erixon fit into that mix anyway? Wotherspoon will be considered a better prospect within another year, IMO

Pity we don't play Columbus any more this year. Would've loved to see Bouma smear him into the boards.
