He's improving, which is all I could ask for at this point.

He's getting better but you can still see he's a little raw. Still he seems to get around pretty well for a big man and looks to have decent offensive instincts. Just needs some polish and extract more out of that big frame and raise his physical game.

Looks like pretty much what you'd expect for a player acquired for a 4th round pick. He's an adequate 4th line center with some unrealized potential.

Colborne likely has more upside, but just based on play, I don't think he has been better than Street

I thought it was Joey's best game last night as a Flame. He was throwing his weight around, creating pressure on the forecheck and back check, and had some good looks at the net too. Didn't look out of place between arguable our two top wingers. Really happy for him and I hope he keeps progressing.

I'm starting to get curious about his potential ceiling. He's improving fast, but still very raw. Very hard to estimate how good (or bad) he can be.
But I'm liking the chance we took on him very much.

He's generated way more scoring opportunities than Street who was getting top 6 ice time up until this weekend and did nothing with it offensively. When a guy like him gets a chance like that he has to generate offense and he didn't which made him an easy candidate to be sent down having already clearing waivers earlier in the season.

He is proving to be quite useful against larger teams. Phoenix will be another opportunity for him to prove his worth. Wish he would physically impose more often, but I am starting to come around on him for sure

What a crazy wingspan he has. He could be a dominant defensive centre once he fills out more. Wow was I ever wrong about him.

They should have him work with Joel Otto. If he could to learn to use his size like Otto did, he'd be deadly.

Maybe he's a descendant of Frank Mahovlich. He just needs someone to wake him up.

Seeing him more and more, I think he is worth the time to try and make something out of. Really enhances the youth movement.

Now that the monkey is off his back I think he will start to gain more confidence. Every game he's improving

That was a pretty goal. Given the chance, I think he can really shine for us. I'd rather see him in the top 6 than some players.

I think he's really bought into being that third or fourth line really responsible center. I'd like to see a bit more from him in terms of his physical game. With his size and speed he should be murderizing opponents below the goal line.
But his positioning and his effort have been sound. He was really rewarded last night on his goal, just due to a solid understanding of where the seams on the ice were at that time.

How great would it be if he developed some size, his scoring touch and got a mean streak. I would LOVE if he could turn into a third line center who was defensively responsible and could score but also wouldn't hesitate to put you flat on your back...

Great goal last night, but I echo the sentiments of many posters, guy needs to learn how to use his size, and that doesn't mean he needs to go out and crash and bang and destroy people, he needs better puck possession skills and he needs that mentality of "wanting the puck".
He should watch tape of guys like Jagr and Joe Thornton and see how they use their size to shield the puck in board battles.

So when he scored, was he with Jackman and McGrattan?
